General Overview

We welcome extended stays and are planning in advance for the next couple years, but surprise us with your non sim reciprocal offer, maybe we can fit it in! We are looking for sim or non sim reciprocal exchanges to: *Morocco (sept - Oct 2026), *South Spain /Portugal for 2026 Oct - Nov 2026) *Japan Spring 2027. *France and Italy Spring 2028. Our Guest Suite is our Labour of Love, created out of our enjoyment for hosting, and designed with our love for detail. Throughout you will find artful details, thoughtful decor, and furnishings designed for the comfort of our friends and family. As well our suite is well stocked with all the practical and necessary items that give convenience and ease to living.

The Space

Our bright, woodsy two-floor loft is next to our main house, and yet offers friendly privacy. Experience a nurturing, deep reset in a rural setting, surrounded by serenity and beauty with Ocean and Garden views. Located in close proximity to both Nature, Sooke town amenities, and only minutes to pristine beaches along the Juan de Fuca Strait. The Guest Suite is a personal, welcoming and versatile space, designed for flexibility, and the option for sleeping on both levels. Cozy enough for two, yet spacious and functional enough for up to six guests, it offers the perfect retreat for families, friends, or couples. Ground Floor Features include + Ground level private entrance + Kitchenette + Dining space + Stunning live-edge Acacia wood countertops + Fully stocked Cookware + 2 induction burners + Airfryer Oven + (instapot on request) + BBQ + High ceilings + large windows + Living room + 3 pc Bathroom with heated floors + Douglas Fir loftstairs + Queen Murphy bed ​ + Cable TV + WiFi, Parking + Nespresso Guests with mobility concerns can enjoy the convenience of staying on the main floor, which includes everything you need in one accessible space. While the charming Loft bedroom and sitting area provides additional space and privacy. The large Loft features + Queen bed and Double bed. + comfortable reading and games area; + garden and spectacular ocean views from South and North facing windows. + accessed by a beautiful solid wood loft stairs. And No a/c needed! We have beautiful seabreeze!! This is a non-smoking, pet free, family friendly suite.

Guest Access

2 floor loft with options for sleeping on both levels. Guests with mobility concerns can enjoy the convenience of staying on the main floor, which includes everything you need in one accessible space. While the charming Loft bedroom provides for additional space and privacy, and is especially a favorite for families with kids. The loft is accessible by a sturdy 'ladder'. Please go up and down facing the ladder. Our Wildwood We have a large yard for you to enjoy. The backyard is our ‘Wildwood’ that offers a lush, grassy retreat with towering alders, fir trees, blackberry bushes, and the occasional visit from wild bunnies, and deer. This tranquil corner feels like nature’s own sanctuary, painted colourful with Rhododendrons and a sea of Crocosmias. The heart of Wildwood, however is our favorite moss-covered rock, the home to our fire pit, pergola and outdoor dining area. Our front yard overlooks glistening ocean views and gardens, and offers a fragrant corner to enjoy a morning coffee or afternoon wine alongside the hummingbirds, under the Honeysuckle. Our Adult Spa Center Our private Spa can be made available for our adult guests, however we do have some protocols and a waiver for usage, safety and health.

Neighbourhood

Our neighborhood is called Otter Point. Here you will enjoy an authentic and Idyllic West Coast setting with close proximity to ocean, forests, or Sooke town amenities (located 8 km). Close enough to enjoy the vibrancy of City life (Victoria 47km), yet only minutes to several West Coast beaches, and the draw of Old Growth forests. We are ideally located for nearby activities that include beach combing, old growth forests and nature trails, coastal hiking, charter fishing, horseback riding, whale watching, bike/kayak/paddle boarding opportunities within minutes. Here you may also enjoy the quietness of being away from a city, or the brilliance of the stars enhanced by the darkened night sky. Fall in love with the uniqueness of our area as you watch the fog roll in over the water, hear the sound of the waves rolling, the voices of the Sea Lions; the smell of the fresh sea air; and excitement of spotting whales from the comforts of our front yard or the loft window. Some of our favourite nearby spots: 1 block from Otter Point rocks and small public park with shoreline fishing access. 1-2 km from Gordon's beach, an easy 10-15 walk. 4km from Muir creek 8km from the town of Sooke. 10 minutes to the Sooke Potholes 10km to Sheringham Lighthouse, French Beach and Shirley Delicious (a MUST visit for their tasty treats!) 20 minutes from Jordan River and China Beach and the Juan de Fuca Trail head @ Mystic Beach. 40 minutes to Sombrio Beach and our favourite secret Waterfall 30 min to East Sooke, Beecher's Bay (another gem) 1hr 15 min to Port Renfrew, Botanical Beach (our #1 suggested excursion) 47 km to Victoria 1 hour by car from Swartz Bay Ferry 63 km to nearest airport, Victoria International Airport
