General Overview

History meets comfort meets bright, sunny, art-filled home in the BEST location in New Orleans. This house is everything that makes New Orleans life perfect from the authentic New Orleans architecture with high ceilings, stained glass and hardwood floors to the thoughtful updates and livability. The location cannot be beat, full of giant oak trees, beautiful gardens, distinct architecture and friendly faces. House is only 2 blocks from Magazine Street with the best in the city restaurants (Shaya, Saffron, La Petit Grocery, Hungry Eyes), boutiques, breweries, bakeries (La Boulangerie), bars (Les Bon Temps Roule, Ms Maes) and the very famous Tipitina's music club is 5-min walk from your door. Bus and Streetcar downtown to the French Quarter are all walkable.

The Space

The house is a classic circa 1920 New Orleans "single shotgun" with a main bedroom in the back a second "walk through" bedroom, a hallway with the bathroom off of it and then a beautiful open concept kitchen and living room in front. There is a long driveway with a gate for off-street parking a major plus in Uptown New Orleans. The back shed houses the washer and dryer and some areas for storage though this area is primarily for owners use only. In the lush back courtyard there is an outdoor couch and grill. But the penultimate part of this happy home is the essential part of of New Orleans life - a big front porch to sit and watch the world go by, catch the breeze, wave to neighbors and enjoy the swaying palm tree.

Guest Access

House has a side entrance behind a wooden gate that has a keypad, we will provide the code to the keypad 24 hours prior to check in.

Notes

For Globe stays only we will ask for a $195 to be sent to us via Venmo or Zelle for cleaning 24 hours after check-in.

Neighbourhood

Uptown/Garden District is the absolute best neighborhood in the city. It's really where those who call New Orleans home live. Its walkable, safe, friendly and full of amazing restaurants, shops, music clubs and open space. The trees are 100s of years old and offer shade while you ramble through narrow streets and neighborhoods with houses of every different size, shape and style. The house is just 2 blocks from Magazine Street's restaurants (3 Michelin rated restaurants are at the end of our block), boutiques, coffee shops, bakeries and neighborhood bars. We put together our little guide to live like a local: https://www.farrellstrategicgroup.com/new-orleans-cheat-sheet

Getting to my home

Fly into New Orleans Airport and take a city cab (flat rate of $35) to the house. Or rent a car but you really don't need a car to get around.

Nearest airport

Louis Armstrong Airport (MSY) is 20 min. drive and cabs have a flat rate of $35 to/from.

Getting Around

The city bus Route 11 is 2 blocks away which brings you directly to Canal Street downtown. Download the RTA app called "Le Pass" to navigate and use the city bus or streetcar lines. The St. Charles Ave. streetcar is a joy and it is 10 min. walk. Uber/Lyft is also widely available. Neighborhood is great for waking and biking.
