General Overview
We have a beautiful 5 bedroom rural property 5 minutes from Jindabyne township, 30 minutes from Thredbo and Perisher ski resorts and 2 hours from Canberra.
Jindabyne is the heart of Australia’s Alpine Playground. Its spectacular scenery will leave you breathless. This popular and sought-after alpine town is located just outside the Kosciuszko National Park at the base of the Thredbo Valley. Set on the shores of stunning Lake Jindabyne, the unique beauty and the vibrant energy of the town provide a world where your dream holiday can begin. One with adventure, exploration and relaxation.
It's a bustling winter wonderland for skiers and snow boarders heading to the slopes and a summer oasis for those seeking to hike, mountain bike, fish or enjoy water sports on the lake. There is something for everyone all year round in this thriving mountain town.
Spend a day on the slopes at Charlotte Pass or enjoy a guided backcountry ski and snowboarding adventure. For a bird's-eye view, take a scenic helicopter flight and soar high above Kosciusko National Park, flying over the peaks of Mount Kosciuszko and Mount Townsend. Keep an eye out for wild brumbies below!
In the summer months, the crystal-clear waters of Lake Jindabyne are ideal for fishing and water sports. Horse riding tours are popular throughout the Snowy Mountains and nearby Crackenback offers short trail rides and longer treks through beautiful wilderness areas.
Hiking and walking trails wind throughout the surrounding bushland. Try the picturesque trail around the edge of the lake, take the Waterfall Walking Track through the fields of wildflowers or venture further into the Kosciuszko National Park.
The area is also known for mountain biking and Thredbo Valley has a number of world-class trails, including the legendary Cannonball Downhill Trail that follows a long ski run.
Jindabyne has plenty of top eateries and brewpubs on offer. Try Australian schnapps from locally sourced fruit at the Wildbrumby Distillery and enjoy strolling around the beautiful grounds and sculpture gardens. Pinot’s wine bar is a hot favourite with the locals. For craft brews made with pure mountain water, head to Jindabyne Brewing or Kosciusko Brewing at The Banjo Paterson Inn.

Kelly
G'day from Australia! My name is Kelly, and we are a family of 5... my husband Ray and 3 busy teenagers. We live in the beautiful Snowy Mountains of NSW. I know what you're thinking.... but yes, Australia does have snow! In comparison to some other ski resorts around the world, we may have hills instead of mountains and snow more like non-flavoured ice slushies rather than actual powder BUT we do live in an incredible part of the world. In 2024, we sold our automotive workshop after 16 years in business, which has given us the freedom to start living. My husband and his family are from Scottland, so a Scottish exchange is top of the bucket list.
