Neighbourhood

Tyresö Strand is a "half-island" just outside of Stockholm, and belongs to the inner Arhipelago. We have excellent public transport to Stockholm City (app 20 min) and the bus stop is close to the house. Tyresö is famous for nature and culture, and Tyresö Castle (a must to visit!) is just a 15 minute walk from our house. Our street is a typical suburban street, with nice families and it is a really calm and nice neighborhood. You can walk to the grocery store and our local ”piazza” with café, pizzeria, sushi bar and liberary. There are also commuter boats that takes you further out in the Archipelago from Tyresö, so there is so much to explore! Stockholm is knows as ”the most beautiful capital in the world”, and it is a really pretty city. Trains are really good in Sweden, and by train you can for example go to Oslo, Gothenburg ,Copenhagen.

Getting Around

We live in a walking distance to our local little "piazza" with grocery-store, café, restaurants (italian and sushi) and library. There are many things to see on a walking or if you borrow our bikes, for example Tyresö Castle, beaches (both lake and sea) and nature. We have a Tesla Model Y that can be part of the exchange. We have a charger at home. Taking the bus to the city takes appr. 20 minutes. The bus-stop is 5 min walking distance from us.

Linda

Hi! We are a family of 4 that live outside the capital of Sweden, Stockholm. We also have a dog, a labrador retriever named Zelda. We love everything that has to do with beeing outdoors, such as skiing, hiking, swimming and biking. Anything really that we can do together outside. On the list of things we would like to learn is surfing and diving! We really enjoy travelling, but we also love to host people and share our best part of Sweden. We have a secondary home that we rent out on Airbnb and has in that way practiced hosting for many years. So, who are we? Markus works in Law and Linda works as a Management Consultant but also holds a degree in teaching business, social sciences and Spanish at High School/Upper Secondary. We are travelling with our children Tyra (15yrs) and Folke (13 yrs). We are looking forward to see places we might not have found or thought about if it wasn't for PLU!
