What you’ll enjoy outside: • Large covered pergola with soft furnishings & a fire pit — perfect for cosy evenings and watching beautiful countryside sunsets • Giant trampoline • Children’s play area: climbing frame, swings & slides • Football goals • Cycling & water fun: bikes, canoes, and paddleboards available for guest use • Fruit trees & berries you can enjoy in season: • 12 apple trees, many quirky varieties but they are the most delicious you will have ever tasted • 2 pear trees • Victoria plum • Gooseberries & blackcurrant bushes It’s a very safe, peaceful outdoor haven where kids can roam and adults can unwind.

The Leeds–Liverpool Canal runs through the village, offering miles of walking, cycling, paddleboarding, and wildlife spotting. 🚆 Transport & Access Although we’re surrounded by countryside, travel is easy: • Liverpool – short and direct by train, car or direct bus stop is 5 mins walk • Manchester – easy commute of 40 mins by car or direct train station is just 5 mins drive • Close to motorway network (10 mins) for regional exploring

Convenient for Liverpool (25 mins drive) and Manchester airports (35 mins drive)

Getting Around

We’re semi-rural, Uber and other taxi services are great. Train and bus stations are close The nearest town is Ormskirk 10 mins drive there’s a local shop about 10 mins walk. Hiring a car would be ideal & we have a very large and safe driveway

Hi! I’m based in the beautiful village of Halsall, near the market town of Ormskirk in West Lancashire. We’re surrounded by canals, fields, and footpaths, so spending time outdoors is a big part of our lives. At home, I live with my girlfriend and her two young children, aged 5 and 9. My eldest son is now a young adult and sometimes still stays with us. Because of that, my travel companions vary – sometimes I travel on my own, sometimes with my girlfriend, sometimes with the children, and annually without fail I take a trip with just me & my son. We’re an active family who love being outdoors. Skiing is one of our favourite holidays, and we’re happiest in the mountains or by the beach. We’re generally not big city people, although we’re always open to somewhere different – after all, a change is as good as a rest! We enjoy discovering new places, experiencing local culture, and making the most of family time together. Whether we’re looking for an adventure in nature or a relaxing coastal escape, we always treat the homes we stay in with great care and respect, just as we would hope others would treat ours. We look forward to meeting fellow PLU members and creating wonderful exchange experiences.
