Welcome to Casa da Aldeia Nova, where unforgettable stays are a cherished tradition. Nestled in the heart of Caminha, our spacious villa is perfectly tailored for large family vacations or friends gatherings, comfortably accommodating up to 10 adults and 6 children.

The Space

Casa da Aldeia Nova was uniquely designed for families and friends, it offers an unforgettable vacation experience. Nestled about 3km inland, our villa boasts stunning views and serves as the perfect spot for relaxation.

Our well-appointed accommodation features:

- 4 generously sized bedrooms in the main house, along with a cozy smaller room, ideal for two children.
- 4 well-equipped bathrooms and 2 fully functional kitchens, ensuring convenience and privacy for all guests.
- 1 independent studio next to the main house, fully equipped with large bedroom and a kitchenette

At the heart of Casa da Aldeia Nova is our stunning swimming pool, perfectly oriented to capture breathtaking sunsets. With a large shallow area, it is safe and enjoyable for families with young children.

Beyond the pool, Casa da Aldeia Nova offers a variety of recreational facilities:

A multi-sports compound for touch tennis, football, basketball, and more.

A dedicated kids' playground to keep our younger guests entertained.

An outdoor barbecue area with a large dining table seating up to 14 people, complemented by several cozy lounge areas with outdoor sofas.

At Casa da Aldeia Nova, the challenge isn’t finding something to do—it’s deciding to leave at all.

It´s a rehabilitated house on a hill, so it has lots of stair in the exterior and also stairs between first and second floors.

Notes

It can be exchanged as a whole house with a total of 5 bedrooms plus the studio, or it can be exchanged separately: studio, 3bedroom, and 2 bedroom. All can have kitchen/kitchenette and independent entrance.

Guests can easily immerse themselves in both cultures by crossing the river by car or boat.

Caminha is not only about beautiful beaches—it is also a gateway to majestic mountains and rich historical sites. From our town, you are just a 30-minute ride away from exploring renowned cultural landmarks such as Viana do Castelo, Ponte de Lima, Valença, Santiago de Compostela, and Vigo. 

Caminha truly stands as the perfect base to explore all that Northern Portugal has to offer.

Casa da Aldeia Nova is located in the town of Caminha which is 1hr drive north of Porto (Portugal) and 1hr drive south of Vigo (Spain).
Both locations have an airport and highway to Caminha.
Other transportations are also available, but to fully experience the area, the hiring of a car is highly recommended .

It was a true pleasure spending a week at Joana and Francisco's home near Caminha. Communication was seamless. The house was spacious and spotless, with tons of windows to the view outside. For children, especially, it's a dream. My kids spent hours playing tennis, basketball, and soccer. Even though it was much too cold, they enjoyed the pool as well. This is a great location for exploring northern Portugal. We spent time in Barcelos, Caminha, and Valença/Tui. Spain is just across the river, and we took the opportunity to visit Vigo as well. All in all, highly recommended. Thanks for welcoming us so warmly, Joana and Francisco!

Our exchange in Caminha with Joana was a truly wonderful experience – even though the weather didn’t quite cooperate this time. Instead of sunny pool days, we made the most of cozy moments indoors. The fireplace kept us warm while we spent hours playing games and building endless Lego creations together. We absolutely loved waking up to the beautiful view of the mountains each morning – such a peaceful and inspiring way to start the day. And the fresh bread delivered every morning was a real treat! Joana really spoiled us ❤️ Whenever the rain stopped, we set out to explore the area. The region around Caminha is stunning – wild Atlantic air, endless beaches, and a sense of wide-open freedom. Our absolute highlight was the walk from Moledo Beach to the mouth of the Rio Minho in Caminha (Foz do Rio Minho) – from the wild ocean to the calm river, past dunes and rolling waves. The house itself had everything we could wish for: a pool, tennis court, trampolin and playground that everyone loved – kids and adults alike. Joana was an exceptionally kind and helpful host who made sure we had everything we needed 😍 Despite the rainy weather, it was a truly memorable stay – full of warmth, relaxation, and beautiful moments. We’d love to come back someday!

Our family had an absolutely incredible stay in Venade, Portugal, at a stunning house that truly made our vacation unforgettable. It gave us the freedom to easily explore nearby attractions, beautiful beaches, and quaint villages at our own pace, which added so much to the experience. Can recommend to rent car from GoDrive next to OPO airport - supergood service. Our host, Joana, was an absolute gem. Her warmth and hospitality shone through from the moment we arrived. She was always quick to respond to any questions we had, offering helpful tips and recommendations that made our stay even more enjoyable. Her genuine care for her guests truly enhanced our experience. As a family, this trip was perfect, and sharing the house with another PLU family made it even more special. We loved bonding over shared activities, from poolside relaxation to friendly tennis matches and exploring the region together. The setup was ideal for creating lasting memories with both our kids and our friends. We can’t recommend this place enough for families or groups looking for a blend of relaxation, adventure, and luxury in the heart of Portugal’s stunning countryside. You might be looking at this listing and wondering if such a dream place is real - I can assure you, it is! We have had such an amazing time at Joana and Francisco's villa, it is hard to describe it with words. They are both so caring and open and offered us plenty of tips and help when we needed it. Francisco even organised a daily fresh bread delivery for us. We were lucky to get to know this sweet family and the boys a little bit during our stay and it was wonderful and made our exchange very special. We also met Jeko, who is a very cool dog and we miss him now. The villa itself is a jewel with incredible views - one can marvel at nature endlessly here. We were 4 adults and a 4 year old and had the 3 bedroom apartment, which is very comfortable and has everything one needs. We took a few trips into Caminha, Viana do Castelo and Porto and otherwise enjoyed our time on the premises next to the pool, the playground and the trampoline:) We felt very blessed to be here and did not want to leave...
