I never imagined I would end up living in Peru (despite marrying a Peruvian woman!). We were previously based in Andalucia, Spain and decided to relocate back to UK once the pandemic finished, but went to visit family in Lima before doing so... and never left.
The city has mild weather all year round, loads of activities for young children and a brilliant buzz.
Lima is known primarily for two things: Surfing and eating Some of the world's best surfers are from Lima and they have 2 of the top 10 restaurants in the world!
The space
3 Ensuite Bedrooms (2 with showers, one with a small bath) in a new building completed in 2022. The 'maids quarters' which is a small room off the utility room has been converted into an office.
We have an incredible nanny who also helps with cooking/cleaning. She is practically part of our family and may be available during your stay should you want help with this.
Guest access
We are on the sixth floor. There is a lift which opens straight into our apartment.

Neighbourhood
Miraflores is one of the best 'barrios' of Lima. We're surrounded by beautifully maintained gardens and right in the heart of the city and 2 of the top 10 restaurants in the world are in walking distance. Our street is surprisingly tranquil considering the location.
Getting to my home
Lima airport is 20-60 minutes away depending on traffic. Uber is super affordable here and you don't really need a car unless you're heading out of the city.
I have a car you could possibly use if required.

Adam
We're a British (Adam) / Peruvian (Gabi) family currently living in Lima, Peru! We have two boys aged one (Noah) and three (Dominic).
We both worked remotely so travelled extensively before starting a family. Now the boys are getting a little older we're keen to plan some trips!
We're very clean, quiet (as possible with two very active boys) and respectful of other properties. We rent our properties on Airbnb and can share 100s of positive references! We're restricted to term-times.
People Like Us is the world's most trusted home exchange community. We believe in sharing, trust, generosity, respect, communication, equality, cooperation, honesty, hospitality, friendship, flexibility and adventure. We take pride in our homes and we care about the environment in which we live: our village, city, country and our planet. We care about the ethos of home exchange and we do it because we love the experience and the friendships that it generates.
Somewhere for your children/monkeys to burn their energy
This is where I pretend to work (really I'm just surfing PeopleLikeUs, snooping around all your homes and planning out the next 10 years of vacations).
Our toddler isn't ready to sleep alone yet hence the mattress on the floor but this can be removed if you prefer.
Bath tubs aren't really that common here in Lima for some reason, but we had this one installed. It's kids size, but you could probably make it work if you are really short or don't mind having your knees up to your ears ;-)
Lima is very gray during the winter (they refer to the sky as 'the donkey's belly) but it's stunning when the sun comes out!
