General overview
*This unit is primarily rented out on other platforms. Unless your location is somewhere we're planning on travelling, we'll likely only accept Globes on this listing*
North Van's prime tourist attractions and mountain trails are at your doorstep in this fully-equipped, family friendly two bdrm suite.
Stroll by the ravine one block away, then relax in the hot tub while enjoying the lush greenery that surrounds you in our spacious yard. Have a drink on your private patio. Or, if you're up for adventure, head to Grouse Mountain (5 min), downtown Vancouver (15 min), or hop on a bus (300m) and explore all that Vancouver has to offer. We can't wait to welcome you.
The space
This 1000sq ft garden walk out suite is on the ground level of our home - we live on the second floor. (If you’d like to rent out the whole house, total of 7 bedrooms or 12 guests, please enquire!). The entire suite is above ground - no window wells or cave-like feel here! There is a private, separate entrance to the suite from the back yard, with keypad entry. Suite highlights are a FULLY equipped kitchen, private patio, and hot tub available for your use. We have some baby gear available for free, as well.
Kitchen: This is not your standard, bare-bones rental. Our suite was previously lived in by a family member, so it is equipped as though someone lives here (but all the personal effects are out). The kitchen has everything you could possibly need, and then some (want to make paella? There's a paella pan.) It's perfect for people who are looking for a long term stay, or like to eat in, because it feels like a home. Appliances are: gas stove and convection oven, whisper quiet dishwasher, fridge/ freezer, drip coffee maker, and a Nespresso machine (pods/coffee provided).
There is also a dining table that seats 4.
Living room: You will never want to leave this couch. Canadian-made, down-filled, and extra deep... curl up with the gas fire place on, watch some Netflix on TV, and gaze out at the lush landscape surrounding the suite.
Bedroom 1: Enjoy the beautiful Grouse
Mountain views while relaxing in your king-size bed. There's a large walk-in closet, ceiling fan, and room darkening (not black out) curtains in this room.
Bedroom 2: Cozy queen size bed with luxurious sheets and spacious closet. There are black out curtains and room for a pack and play in the closet.
Bathroom: This is a clean and bright 3 piece bathroom, with heated tile floors. There is a large walk-in shower (shampoo/conditioner, soap provided) with floor to ceiling glass, granite countertops, large vanity, and full size washer/dryer for your use. Note - it's a shower only, no tub.
Outdoor space: Glass double doors lead out onto your private patio, where you can sit and enjoy the sprawling, vibrant back yard landscape, or take a dip in our hot tub, tucked away in the corner of the yard. There is a pergola covered in dense wisteria to protect you from the direct sun and light rain, and a hummingbird feeder that is active all year round. Our young children will often be in our section of the back yard. Feel free to come and play! You are welcome to explore our space.
Guest access
Guests get their entire suite to themselves, with private entrance along the side of the house on the ground level. The patio is fenced off, but there is a small gate so you're able to go through to access the backyard and hot tub. You're welcome to share the backyard and hot tub with us.
Notes
Also.... The unit is only under our bedrooms, so the regular daytime living room/kitchen noise isn't often a problem. You may hear some noise as our littles grab stuff from their rooms, as we're putting them to bed, or getting them out the door to school during the week. Things are quite busy for us between 8-8:30, and then it's silent. They're asleep by 8:30pm and awake by 7:30am, though they usually just wake up and come straight out. We will do our very best to limit noise!

We're a young family with two entrepreneurial parents and two, (sometimes three if we can convince our teen to hang out with us) kids. My husband and I have travelled lots, but have yet to begin the world-wide adventures with our littles. We're excited to start showing them the world!
Open to Europe, USA, and South/Central America. The further the destination (from Vancouver), the longer we'd stay. Hawaii would be a huge plus :)
