General overview
Our home is a tranquil haven in a rural location, yet within a few minutes of the beautiful lake in Loughrea and the famous Galway Bay.
Our home features a private patio with BBQ and a wonderful outdoor space to spend with family. Our new build is modern and stylish with chrome fixtures and sleek finishes, 2 wet-rooms and lots of spaces dedicated to relaxing. Our kitchen is the centre of our home with lots of space for gathering and making memories sitting at the breakfast counter, kitchen table, lounge or egg chair.
We are 30 minutes from Galway city by car where you can visit the Spanish Arch, the promenade in Salthill and the famous Galway Bay. Our home is within 8 minutes drive from the town of Loughrea with restaurants, cafes, pubs and the beautiful Lough Rea where swimming is possible all year round (if you're brave enough!).
Shannon airport and the Cliffs of Moher are 1 hour away. Bunratty and Ashford Castles and Balintubber Abbey are all within 1 hour drive too.
The space
Our home was a self build and a real labour of love! We have a large kitchen dining room, 4 double bedrooms (master with full bathroom) and 2 additional full bathrooms. Our living room is a sensory space with colourful walls, lighting and seating options for our little PLU guests to enjoy.
The ground floor has a living/sensory room, 1 double bedroom, full bathroom, kitchen/dining room and a utility room with washer and dryer.
Our 1st floor has 3 double bedrooms and a main bathroom (our 5th bedroom will be locked and used for storage). Each bathroom has a shower (we have no bath).
We have a large private back garden with a patio, lounge and dining furniture and a BBQ. We have a fox and 2 small rabbits who visit regularly in the evening. The area is peaceful and the only sounds you'll hear are the cows or lambs in the nearby farmer's fields. Yet you can reach pubs and restaurants within a couple of minutes drive.
Our home is heated via underfloor heating and very cosy in the winter time.
Guest access
Our home is wheelchair accessible via ramp and our downstairs bathroom has an accessible shower in a wet-room style.
We can offer hospitality for 1-2 nights for solo travellers or a couple.
Notes
We are excited and pen to ideas about where to travel and what part of the world to see! Our home is perfect for a family and we have lots of toys and board games available. We are only open to simultaneous exchanges and open to offering our car as part of the exchange. Guests with disabilities are especially welcome and our home is accessible.
We can add an additional 1-2 guests on our sofa-bed if pre-arranged.

Neighbourhood
Our neighbourhood is rural (think grass in the middle of a little country road!) and so peaceful. Everyone waves when you drive past and people stop to chat when they're out for a walk in the evening. Yet we're within a couple of minutes drive of a lively town, beautiful lake or the vibrant Galway City.
For foodies, we live just 3 minutes drive from the award winning and exclusive Lignum restaurant. This must be booked months in advance, so keep this in mind when planning
your trip!
Getting to my home
Shannon and Knock airport are 1 hour drive away.
Dublin Airport is 2 hours from our home.
Getting around
A car is necessary for a stay at our home. Happy to discuss guests using our car.

Lhara
We are a family of 6 who love travelling and seeing new places! I work as a University lecturer and my husband is a plumber. We have a beautiful home in the countryside in the west of Ireland and our home is perfect for a family with small or grown up children, or for retirees looking to explore the natural beauty and heritage of Ireland.
We are open to simultaneous exchanges only and therefore your home must be large enough for our family (at least 3 bedrooms). Looking forward to hearing from you!
