General Overview
New cottage from 2023, located an hour from Montreal: I can also exchange my pied-à-terre in Montreal (2 bedrooms, 4 people), or do a mix of both!
I am very flexible and can accept just about any date since I have 2 properties.
Summer 2026, no real availability in advance on the chalet, because I am waiting for my family to visit and I will only open weeks at the last minute, depending on their agenda.
All types of exchanges can interest me, but it depends on the place and the period.
A change of scenery guaranteed, one hour from Montreal!
The cottage is located in Lanaudière, near Chertsey.
1h10 from my Montreal apartment.
In an unspoilt and beautiful location!
Located at the end of a peninsula, it is a place of absolute calm!
With the village 3 minutes by car, or 10 minutes by bike.
Beautiful unobstructed view of the lake in winter, and a little more intimate in summer because of the surrounding greenery. With its glazing, the chalet gives the impression of being immersed in nature.
1700 sq. ft. house with two large bedrooms. It's my main residence, the comfort is absolute.
Suitable for up to 6 people (1 queen bed, 1 double bed + 1 modular bed that can become queen or subdivide into 2 single beds).
So I can accommodate 3 couples, or 2 couples + 2 people.
The master bedroom is loft style: it is not closed, but is visually separated from the living room by a wall.
The loft style configuration keeps this large space open to the glass over the entire front surface of the chalet and gives the impression of being immergé.es in the forest from anywhere in the living room/kitchen... or the bedroom.
It's a bit of a "forest open" concept.
A spa is accessible directly from the house, on the balcony of the master bedroom.
But there is also access through the garden.
It operates from May to October. I'm closing it for the winter
Access to the lake via a private road to a platform (raft/boat).
Access on foot only, no car access.
For the Montreal apartment, see my other listing.
The Space
It is still a wild area, with shops nearby (Chertsey, Entrelacs).
There are few shops in the village of Entrelacs, but the grocery store (Richelieu market) provides 4 or 5 "catering meals" cooked on site every day, and has a good choice of fruits and vegetables, and very good meat and fish.
Out of respect for my neighbors (and for me), I don't allow parties or outdoor music.
Ecological and rejuvenating stay only, for nature lovers!
It is a place to recharge your batteries, to rest with family or friends. And enjoy the spa or swimming, walks in the forest behind, kayak trips on the lake and in the river... with great respect for our environment.
The village centre is tiny: no cafes or restaurants.
To do this, you have to go to Chertsey or Rawdon.
We have a DIY store, a church and a town hall, and a gas station/convenience store.
It's minimalist, but that's why I love it!
It's absolute calm.
Many of the neighbors are friends and can be contacted when needed.
Guest Access
House on one floor. The entrance is located at the back of the house.
In winter, it is accessed by a staircase with 6 steps that leads to the terrace and gallery.
In summer, it is also accessible from the back with only 1 step, but no tarmac path, you walk in the grass.
Notes
I lend 2 kayaks and 1 paddle board.
The hill behind the house is common property and you can practice rackets and cross-country skiing. Or a walk in the summer.
In summer, the water is hot and can range from 22° (in cool weather) to 28° (in heat waves).
In winter, you can ski or skite-surf on the lake.
It is only accessible to lakeside owners, no public access, it is very quiet and wild.
The lake is large, and has 4 small bays, each with its own charm.
It is navigable, so there are motorboats, but no public access, so never very busy.
It takes about an hour to kayak around (at a good pace), so it's not a small lake. You can really have fun there!
For safety reasons of the water of the lake (algae), it is forbidden to bring your own boats (paddle type), unless you talk to me and give me a guarantee that you have gone to the village washing station.

Getting to my home
From Montreal, it's a 1h10 drive on the A25.
You can also come directly from Montreal-Trudeau airport (1h25 drive by the A15)
If you also want to come to my Montreal apartment, it's a 30 minute drive from the airport and about $60 taxi ride when it's not too busy.
Close to all transport: bus, metro, self-service bikes/cycle paths
Nearest airport
Montréal-Trudeau (1h25 de route)
Getting Around
By car mainly.
By bike, if you are sporty (I already had an exchange with a guy who was teleworking... and cycling)!

I have been doing home exchanges since 1995. I have traveled the world with my children, since they were 2 and 5 years old... and this for 30 years:)
I was on another site, but I would like to go back to a more user-friendly formula.
I work in film dubbing (cinema film and TV series) and am also a cartoon scriptwriter. I'm a nomad 4 months a year, so I'm open to everything!
I am very flexible on dates, as I have 2 houses: an apartment in Montreal and a cottage.
I love kayaking, swimming, cross-country skiing, museums, cities as well as the countryside. I like destinations that are out of the ordinary, I can't stand overtourism.
I can exchange for a week, or a month.
I am sometimes accompanied by a friend, or one of my daughters.
I'm already starting to like this site. Looking forward to making trades!
