General Overview

It is a townhouse with 2 apartments.  
Located in Rosemont, a few blocks from the Plateau Mont-Royal, it is a haven of freshness in the heart of the city, in a friendly family neighborhood where life is good.  
It's the countryside in the middle of the city. 

It is good to rest on the terrace in the evening, the view of the greenery is relaxing. On summer evenings, there is a concert of cicadas and crickets.  

I am located in one of the most sought-after areas of Rosemont, very close to the Plateau Mont-Royal. A green and peaceful environment, a nice view, a park around the corner, shops and cafes within walking distance... and free and easy parking!  

Calm in a bustling city.

The Space

I have a neighbour who lives in the duplex just below, with her 22-year-old daughter.  
My apartment is the one upstairs. 
It is air-conditioned. With a patio at the back and a balcony at the front. It is very bright, sunny. 

The apartment is equipped as a primary residence, although I now spend half of my time at my cottage. I lived there full time from the time I owned the entire duplex. 
And I never rent: for me, with almost 30 years of experience in home exchange (in Paris, Montreal and near my lake), exchanges are truly a way of life :)

The apartment: 
A large room with queen bed and balcony on a very quiet residential street. 
A desk (equipped with a large screen for nomadic workers) which also serves as a bedroom, with a single bed. 
A very well equipped kitchen and all the comforts of a real house: it's my home, I don't rent in parallel. 

Another great asset: my patio, which practically becomes my kitchen all summer long! 

A garage is also possible at the end of the street, on request, but street parking is very easy.

Guest Access

3 flights of steps to reach my floor.  
Not suitable for people with major mobility problems (but my brother who is in a wheelchair still spent 3 days there, so it all depends on your disability).  
Safe for children.

Notes

I have been doing home exchanges for 30 years and I like to welcome my guests as friends, simply, without fuss, with good communication.  

It is also the experience of new human exchanges that I like in this concept, not only finding or offering accommodation.

Neighbourhood

You'll love the Rosemont neighbourhood! 

A few blocks from the Plateau Mont-Royal, it is a family friendly neighborhood with 2 parks (one of which has a free children's pool in the summer), a free public pool 10 minutes walk away. 

In summer, a lot of entertainment in the parks, music (you can't hear it from home), open-air cinema, picnics, a music kiosk with sometimes dance classes, a space for dogs, etc... 
 
In winter, ice skating rinks, a hockey field in Beaubien Park at the corner of our street.  

My guests love the proximity, you can do almost everything on foot (grocery stores, restaurants, cafes and a beautiful old cinema), and they enjoy the quality of life in a family environment.  

Many parks around: Olympic Park is not that far away. There is also Maisonneuve Park. 
At Molson Park, you can skate in the winter and relax in the summer, while going to the organic market when it's in season.  

Beaubien Park has a baseball field, tennis courts, a small hockey field. 

I also have a chalet 1h15 from my apartment, you could exchange one or the other... or both. With flexibility since I can move where you won't :)

Getting to my home

Very well connected by public transport. 

30 minutes by bike from the city center, 5 minutes by car from the A40 motorway, 7 minutes walk from the Iberville metro, 5 minutes from the Beaubien bus, it is very well served by public transport.  

Bixie bike stations nearby.

Nearest airport

Montreal-Trudeau Airport (30 minutes by car, no traffic)

Getting Around

Close to the city center, well served by public transport and bike paths, very easy to park a car on the street (no paid parking). 

A lot can be done on foot in the neighborhood.  

To get to the city center, I frankly recommend public transport.  
But if you have a car, it can park around the house without any problem.  
I also have a garage at the end of the street, which I can lend if my car is at the cottage (but when I'm away from the country, it stays in the garage).

I've been doing home exchanges since 1995. It's a way of life for me.  
I had 2 and 5 year old children at my 1st exchange, and I have since become a grandmother!  
Suffice to say that I have a whole life of exchanges behind me... even before the invention of the internet! Exchange is definitely in my DNA. 
 
Over the years, I have done exchanges several times a year, in North America, Europe, the Caribbean and French Polynesia.  
In total, I have carried out more than a hundred exchanges and I have welcomed at least as many guests, more often for holidays than for weekends. 

I was on another site, but when I joined PLU, I wanted to reconnect with a more user-friendly formula. 

I've been partially retired since this year: I still work a little bit in film dubbing (cinema film and TV series) and in the past, I was a cartoon scriptwriter.  

I'm nomadic at least 4 months a year, so I'm open to everything!  

I am very flexible on dates, as I have 2 houses: an apartment in Montreal and a cottage.  

I love kayaking, swimming, cross-country skiing, museums, cities as well as the countryside. I love destinations that are out of the ordinary, I can't stand overtourism. 

I can exchange for a week, or a month. 

I am sometimes accompanied by a friend, or one of my daughters.
