General overview

Only about 500 feet from Little Lake Paw Paw, you can sit on the front porch and take in the sights and sounds of the lake. The public boat launch is only a few minutes away, or you can head over to Lake Paw Paw for a bigger adventure. If that's not enough, 9 mins and you are at the beach on Lake Michigan, the 5th largest lake in the world.

The space

The space is very open and airy. The table up front is great for coffee, reading or work on your laptop. It flows right into the comfortable living room and kitchen. You can sit at the island and work while your meal is cooking, or go sit at the dining table and look out the french doors to the deck. The deck is very quiet and comfy with plenty of deck furniture and a table with an umbrella. There are numerous spaces to work from. This is a great location for those who might want to "go remote" for a while, maybe to get out of the City or take in a different part of the world.

Guest access

This is a single story home, there are three steps up to the porch and the deck in back. The front door is a coded entry, as is one of the doors on the deck and to gain access to the storage/garage space.

Neighbourhood

Coloma is a quant and lovely little community. In the summer it is busy with families and friends going to the beaches and lakes for every imaginable water activity. If it's not to the water, it's to one of the wineries, fruit tree orchards, antique stores or numerous eateries in the area. In the winter it can become a quiet winter wonderland. Cross country skiing, snowmobiling, downhill skiing or just sitting by the fire with your favorite book or show.

Getting around

You're going to want to have a car to get around. The grocery store is only a few mins away, yet there is no transit system here, other than rideshare companies.

My wife and I are early empty-nesters who enjoy traveling and meeting people. My wife is the extrovert but I can hold my own. If your thinking about Chicago, reach out. Our schedule is very flexible, so even if our calendar says we're unavailable, we might still be able to work something out. Send us a message and we can chat. Our two kids are in their early 20's and sometimes still travel with us. If they don't go with, we often take a friend or two with us. We have traveled internationally consistently for the last 5+ years and will continue to do so because of our flexible work schedules. We are both self-employed so that explains the flexibility, we can work from most anywhere there's internet. With the small yard that we have we enjoy growing flowers and vegetables in our garden. Come visit and you can pick and eat whatever's ripe. Our home is in the South Loop/Chinatown neighborhood of Chicago. Restaurants are literally a block away. We do have two cats that we can find temporary housing for if needed. If you'd like to feed and water them, bonus! Btw, my wife Helen is OCD with cleaning, which I see as a plus. You won't ever know they were here if we didn't tell you they were. They are not allowed on the furniture or two of the three bedrooms.
