General overview

***The house is under renovation. Should be ready sometime 2025. Until then, only our primary home in Aqaba, Jordan is available for exchange. Sorry and thank you for checking the listing.*** Our House is located in village Filipini, 7 km from Porec old town and beaches and also close to different sites in continental Istria. It used to be our home before we decided to start out expat journey. It is part of old stone made Kastel from 17. century that belonged to Filipini family.

Neighbourhood

Village Filipini is 7km from Porec old town and beaches. Small and quiet yet near everything. It is secluded in a way and a vehicle is must to move around. It is on bicycle trail and from here you can do many day trips to visit Rovigno, Pula, Pazin, Motovun, Groznjan, Hum, Brijuni, do the wine or truffle tours or go north to Slovenia (2hrs to Ljubljana, 1.5 hrs to Postojina cave, 1 hour to Piran. In Italy, easy reachable are Trieste 1 hour, Venice by ferry from Porec or 2.5 hrs by car, 3.5 hrs to Verona and Lake Garda. Dolomites are 3 hrs away.

It’s less than 7km east of Porec town and minutes away from “Y” highway.

Pula (CRO), Trieste, Venice (IT) or Ljubljana (SLO) are nearest airports.

Getting around

Car, motorcycle or bicycle is necessary to move around. No public transportation available.

Jelena

We are expatriate family from Serbia and Croatia. We have been living in several countries around the world and our children were born in different places. We never did home exchange before but me and my husband met while couchsurfing years ago. We are still active in hosting travelers in our home, where ever it is, and sharing experiences. We have our apartment in Aqaba and coastal home in Croatia (which is in process of renovating and for a while not available). We are experienced travelers and world explorers that appreciate getting to know local community, nature and local food and wine. We are spontaneous family looking for new adventures and prone to last minute traveling. I might work to change that as it doesn't work for now on PLU. The whole family enjoys hosting as it gives us possibility to share more than just a home. We did plenty on different platforms.
