General Overview
Well appointed recently renovated studio condo in a wonderful lodge. Five minutes from an idyllic ski resort.
The Space
The unit is on the second floor of a lodge with approximately 140 units. It feels more spacious than its 491sqft (45.6m2). You walk in from the hallway (which is serviced by stairs or an elevator). To your immediate left is a full bathroom with tub/shower combo. To your right is the mechanical closet with some storage, mop, vacuum, etc. past this is a galley kitchenette with two burner stove, toaster oven, coffee maker, kettle, microwave, refrigerator/freezer, and all dishes/cookware/utensils. Beyond the kitchenette, the unit opens into the large room with two queen size beds, wardrobe, flat screen full size futon, and dining table. You can enjoy your breakfast gazing out the wall-to-wall windows at the beautiful cliff views.
There is a common laundry facility on each floor. It has coin operated washers/dryers.
Guest Access
The lodge is just off the main highway leading north out of Durango. Unfortunately as of now there is no public transportation available. There is a daily shuttle to the ski area (Purgatory Resort). Uber and Lyft are available from downtown Durango for a cost of roughly $35 USD. There are also lots of transfer services from the Durango or even Denver airports.
Notes
The lodge unit comes with access to heated indoor and outdoor pools, hot tub, fitness center, and golf course. Unfortunately, the common area management charges separate fees for this. Right now it is $40/day for the pool/spa/fitness center. I can find out golf course costs for you.

Neighbourhood
Our home is not in a neighbourhood. It's 20 miles (32km) north from the wonderful mountain town of Durango, Colorado, USA. Durango is know for its fully functional narrow-gauge railroad which runs daily to the old mining town of Silverton, Colorado. The town is home to great food, fantastic art, and amazing outdoor activities. Our home sits north of town up the beautiful Animas River Valley and about 5 miles (8km) south of Purgatory Ski Resort.
Getting to my home
You'll need a hire car/truck. There aren't any convenient public transportation options to get to our home. You don’t need a 4WD, but I do recommend front wheel drive in winter. The roads are well plowed but do get icy.
Nearest airport
Your best bet is to fly into: Denver, Colorado, USA (about 7 hours drive away, but it's a beautiful drive); Albuquerque, New Mexico, USA (about 4 hours, starkly bold drive through painted desert); or more expensive but more convenient fly into Durango, which is about 35 miles (56km) south/southwest of our home.
Getting Around
There is a small store and petrol station 3 miles (~5km) north of our home. There are three restaurants on site at the lodge serving breakfast, lunch, and dinner. They range from casual pub food ($-$$) to local farm to table fine dining ($$-$$$). Town (Durango) is 20 miles (32km) south of our home. It has several grocery stores, small shops, drug stores, etc. There is a hospital 30 miles south/southwest.

"Visiting for a friend's retirement ceremony. Hoping for a place for all five of us plus two of the big boys' friends to stay (7 total; 2 adults, 2x 16 year olds, 2x 13 year olds, 1x 6 year old)."

View of the whole lodge from north. Shows golf course. Access to golf is included at swappers expense.
Sign on road to help you find your way. We do recommend a 4WD or AWD vehicle November-March. Even with 300 days of sunshine the roads can get slick in winter.
Two comfy queen beds, full futon, two closets, dresser, smart TV with DirecTV, and free WiFi.
