General Overview
Aloha! We invite you to come relax in our Honolulu, Hawaii tropical home. We are centrally located within 3 miles of world-class snorkeling, hiking, beaches, restaurants, and shopping. Located in the neighborhood of Hawaii Kai in Honolulu on the southeast shore of the island of Oahu, our 2 bed/2 bath primary home features a tropical garden and lanai that are perfect for enjoying morning coffee or an afternoon glass of wine or mai tai. We love our home and know you will feel comfortable and relaxed here!
Our home is in a perfect location to explore the entire island, unwind, and experience the culture and beauty of Hawaii. A few things that you will find within minutes of our home are:
- 1 minute to Kuliouou Ridge hike (intermediate hike with sweeping views; 4 miles roundtrip)
- 2 minutes to Kuliouou Beach Park - enjoy a picnic oceanside
- 3 minutes to Roy's Restaurant - upscale dining with a relaxing, local flare
- 5 minutes to Costco, Safeway grocery stores. Everything you need to stock up
- 5 minutes to Hanauma Bay snorkeling - world-class snorkeling and one of the island’s top attractions
- 15 minutes to Waimanalo Beach and Makapuu Lighthouse hike
- 20 minutes to Kailua Beach and Lanikai Beach, top rated beaches
- 20 minutes to world famous Waikiki
- 20 minutes to airport
- 30 minutes to Pearl Harbor Memorial
- 45 minutes to a traditional Hawaiian luau
- 45 minutes to Haleiwa, famous north shore surf town
- 1/3 mile walk to bus stop for public transportation (bus)
The Space
Our home is open concept, with the living room, kitchen, and dining room all connected and on the main floor.
The living room includes a TV with streaming services, a large reclining couch, and an eat-in bar.
The formal dining room seats 6 (but we bet you'll prefer eating outside in the garden)
The modern, fully equipped kitchen has everything you would need should you like to cook, including refrigerator/freezer, oven, gas cooktop, and microwave. There is a gas BBQ on the deck.
The two bedrooms are also on the main level. Bedroom 1 has a queen size bed and twin sized futon, a desk, and closet space. There is an A/C unit available if visiting during the warmer summer months. Bedroom 1 has an en suite bathroom with walk in shower.
Bedroom 2 has a full size bed and a desk. The bathroom features a walk in shower and plenty of natural light and space.
A separate laundry room one floor down includes washer, dryer and extra refrigerator/freezer.
In our garage you’ll find beach chairs, beach umbrella, boogie boards, surfboards and coolers for a day at one of the many nearby beaches.
The highlight of our home is the relaxing tropical garden with adirondack chairs where you can enjoy morning coffee or a glass of wine or mai tai in the afternoon. A side lanai is also ideal to enjoy an outdoor meal. There is a gas BBQ on the deck. You’ll find an outdoor shower near the home entrance to rinse off after your day at the beach.

There is a short flight of stairs to the main entrance.
Notes
Our home is a non-smoking home and is low allergen. In Hawaii, shoes are not worn in the house.
To alleviate your needing to clean on your vacation, we collect a $225 cleaning fee on your departure. We just ask that you gather towels and linens, empty the trash, and start the dishwasher.

Neighbourhood
Our home is in a residential neighborhood. If you walk 1/2 mile toward the ocean you’ll arrive at a beach park that is perfect for an afternoon picnic. Walk 1/2 mile up toward the valley and you’ll arrive at the trailhead of one of our island’s most popular hikes - Kuliouou Ridge.
Getting to my home
Our home is an easy and short 20 minute drive from the main Honolulu airport. It is best to rent a car at the airport to get around the island. You can also catch an Uber (approximately $50 one way) from the airport and then use public transportation (bus). Please note the nearest bus stop is a flat 1/3 mile walk from our home.
Nearest airport
Honolulu's airport is the Daniel K. Inouye Airport (HNL) and it is a 20 minute drive from our home.
