Neighbourhood
The area is perfect to experience local life in Valencia; Arrancapins offers endless eating out options (cheaper and less touristy than Russafa), lots of atmosphere in summer and winter.
The neighbourhood is very local; with pharmacies, supermarkets, grocery shops, butchers and everything you will need a few steps from the apartment.
I will give you lots of tips to make the most out of your home exchange in Valencia.
Nearest airport
Valencia airport is well linked to many other European cities so, it is perfect for a break any time of the year.
The best way to get to the apartment from the airport is by taxi (around 30€) and you'll be at home in 20 minutes.
Otherwise, you can get the tube and the journey takes around 45 minutes.
Getting around
Valencia is a wonderful place to visit with fantastic weather all year round. Bars, restaurants, parks, cafés and pretty much every business is very lively as Valencians ABSOLUTELY LOVE going out and chatting.
Both the bus and tube have stops 2 mins. from the apartment and they'll take you everywhere in the city, although the old town is very close at just a 15 minute walk.
Valencia is famous for the City of Arts and Sciences, the very impressive cathedral, the lively old town, the fabulous Central Market where I spend hours admiring the amazing produce and, of course, the Paella. If you like rice, you ought to visit this part of Spain at some point in your life. Rice and paella is taken very seriously here. There is another well-kept secret and that is Valencian typical brunches but, I will only disclosed this information to actual exchange partners 🤐

If you want to visit the surroundings, you can hire a car if you don't have one. The train gets you to all the main coastal towns such as Xativa, Denia, Peñíscola. However, if you want to visit the hills or the Delta del Ebro, I recommend you have your own car.
There is free on street parking nearby where it is usually not too difficult to find an space but, there are a couple of paid parkings nearby for 20-25 euros per day. You will need to book in advance.
