General overview
The Sugar Shack is a small but beautiful coastal cottage built in 1951. We completed a full, gut renovation in 2016. It’s in a beautiful area steps to Pages Creek and the Intracoastal waterway. We are next door to Entropy Boat Rentals, where you can rent power boats, kayaks and paddle boards.
There is also a vintage 1967 airstream trailer on the property, that could possibly be included with further discussion.
Our house and general area are all about being on the water and nearby beautiful beaches.
Our house is perfect for a couple.
The space
Our home is tastefully decorated, it is small but it’s feels cosy rather than cramped. There is a beautiful garden and furnished screened-in porch. The bedroom is large with a king sized bed and sitting area. The kitchen is very well equipped, with Le Creuset and All Clad cookware, a Lavazza espresso machine, gas range, stand mixer, food processor, ice maker, dishwasher, and a well stocked pantry. There also is a small tv room and a mud room/office combination. The house is accessed with a keyless pin pad entry system.
There is also an enclosed outdoor shower.
Guest access
The house is one story and there are two steps leading to the screened porch.
Notes
We are on a well for water so you may need to add salt to the softener if you’re here for more than a few weeks.
There are honeybee hives nearby, so if you are allergic to bees this might not be the house for you. Although we have never been stung!

Neighbourhood
We are a few miles north of Wilmington NC, on Pages Creek, a tidal creek at the mouth of the Intracoastal waterway. Nearby is a Publix grocery store, and and a few miles in either direction there are many more stores and restaurants. We are a few miles from Wrightsville Beach, Mayfair, UNCW, and Figure Eight Island. Downtown Wilmington, with its vibrant nightlife, river walk, Thailand Hall, The Wilson Center, many great restaurants, Greenfield Lake is only 10 miles away. Screen Gems Studios is 8 miles from the house.
There is a nature trail (Pages Creek Preserve) less than a mile away.
Getting to my home
There is no real public transportation so you will need a car. Uber is available.
