General overview
Enjoy your own sunny apartment that is secluded from the road with views over a private tennis court. This self-contained apartment is annexed to our family home, situated near the historic, seaside village of Devonport, Auckland, NZ.
If you want to be active you have free access to our tennis court, or relax on your own corner of the deck.
The space
Our apartment is a welcoming combination of warmth and character. It features 3 rooms - An open plan kitchen/living area with TV and dining table, a separate bedroom with king sized bed and an ensuite with laundry combined.
Ideally suited for a couple, it is however, possible to add an extra single, rollaway bed for a child or portable cot in the bedroom for a 3rd person, if requested - Albeit a bit tight :)
The kitchen comes fully equipped with a microwave, hob/oven, mini fridge and pantry stocked with cooking essentials.
French doors open onto a small north-east facing deck to enjoy breakfast in the morning sun.
Guest access
It has its own private entrance which is across the court and up a few steps.
Notes
We live in the main house, which is completely separate from the apartment. As travellers ourselves we understand the desire for privacy and lean towards being hands off hosts. However if we are home I am more than happy to answer any questions.
Complimentary tennis rackets available to use.
Complimentary parking is available on our street.

Neighbourhood
Devonport is a friendly, historic seaside suburb, well known for it's charming Victorian architecture. We live in a quiet residential area. Devonport has lots of green spaces as well as NZ's Naval Base and wharf commuting workers to the city.
Check out things to do in Devonport https://nzjane.com/day-trip-to-devonport/
Hire an electric bike to explore Devonport or take on ferry and explore Waiheke's or the city’s cycleways.
Make sure you save some time to discover the safe, white sand beaches, volcanic cones, military tunnels, boutique shops and eateries.
Getting to my home
The best way to get here is by car.
Public transport is not direct, however if you are coming from the airport, catch an airport bus to the central city. It's a 1.4km walk (17mins) to ferry terminal, then take 12 min ferry ride to Devonport. If we are home, we could pick you up from the ferry or you could catch another bus which would drop you a few metres from home.
Alternatively there are taxis which will bring visitors to the door.
Nearest airport
Auckland airport is about 40-45 km away.
Getting around
Public transport via the ferry to Auckland city, Waiheke Island & Rangitoto Island is only a 5 min drive/25 min walk away, along old residential streets and the waterfront.
Within 5-10 min walk from the downtown ferry terminal is Vector Arena (concerts), Wynyard Quarter, Britomart or the Viaduct (eateries and boutiques).
