So sweet and relaxing. This cottage/cabin is locate about 10 minutes from Duluth Minnesota, an absolute tourist Mecca located at the tip of Lake Superior, the largest lake in the world.
Rated as Outdoor Magazines Best Town Ever you will have so many options for activities. I'll list a few but this list could be endless:
Explore the North Shore, endless hiking and biking trails, swim in Lake Superior, swim and play in Pike Lake (our lake), charter a fishing trip, surf, picnic and swim on the 7 mile long white sand beach, visit Gooseberry Falls they are stunning, explore Split Rock light house, drive to Canada and get your passport stamped, take in the view from Lutsen Mountain, climb Ely Peak, watch a concert at Glensheen Mansion, visit Lake Superior Aquarium, watch the giant freighters come through the canal and dine in canal park while watching the Ariel Lift Bridge go up and down, mountain bike some of the nations best trails, Alpine Slide at Spirit Mountain, go to a concert at Bay Front Park...I could go on and on and would LOVE to help you plan your trip!!!
Our cottage is just under 2000 sq feet, three bedrooms two bathrooms. It was built in 1931 and has a lovely stone fireplace (gas) a very updated kitchen, a beautiful covered porch for cocktails at sunset, watching thunder storms or on a very lucky night seeing the northern lights. We have 100 feet of lake frontage. We enjoy bonfires at the beach or on windy days behind the home on the well appointed patio. There is a 9 hole golf course at the end of the lake as well as a casual clubhouse with food and beverages. We have loads of both indoor and outdoor games, a grill, fire pits, kayaks and a canoe.
The space
This home is very cozy. It's really perfect for small family gatherings filled with game playing, puzzles and outdoor fun or someone looking for a bit of solitude to write, read or compose their next masterpiece on the grand piano imported from Estonia.
We do have a high chair, pack and play, baby monitor and baby gate available for your use.
There is laundry on site which is great for long haul travelers.
There is a large smart TV in the basement along with a game table. It's also a great place to sleep in the summer as it's darker and cooler. The bedroom has a California King bed and in the rec room there is a twin size "day bed" as well as a futon that can sleep one comfortably. We do have a blow up mattress on site as well.
The master bedroom had an incredibly comfortable bed and looks out over the water. There is also a TV (not smart) with cable.
The second room on the main floor is very small, cute and comfortable. It has a full mattress that sleeps one comfortably but can fit 2. There is no TV but a lovely view of the garden area.
Guest access
There is a Ring camera at the front door
The front door lock is electronic
You will have an individual code specifically programmed for you during your stay. It is reprogramed for every guest for your safety and security.
Notes
This is not a remote northern Minnesota cabin so there are neighbors as you can see in the photos. They are the best neighbors ever, we are so lucky!
With that being said, there are wild animals. Lots of eagles, owls, deer, squirrels, ducks, loons, bear, coyotes and wolves (sadly we never see them).

Hello! We are world travelers, always curious, love the beaches and the mountains. My daughter is an Olympic alpine ski racer so we will be looking for opportunities in the mountains. I have a cottage on a beautiful little lake just outside Duluth Minnesota USA as well as a tiny but sweet condo near the beach in Santa Monica California.
Typically it will be just my daughter and myself traveling. We don't mind cat sitting:).
