The space
The downstairs apartment is 1650 sq ft. There are 3 bedrooms (2 queen beds, 2 twins, 1 set of twin bunk beds, and 1 queen sleeper sofa). The master suite has a 65” TV, couch, recliner, and desk for work space. The space sleeps 10. There are 2 full baths with a walk-in shower in one and tub/shower combination in the other. The living room offers a pool table, air hockey table, seating for 8 with an additional 8 bar stools, and 70” screen TV. There is a full kitchen. Linens, towels, iron, ironing board, first aid kit, and a hair dryer are provided. Pool floats and toys are by the pool. Board games and books for both children and adults are available for your entertainment. Toys and a pack and play are provided. Outside you will find a private, covered patio with seating, fire pit, covered hot tub, trampoline, and swimming pool. You will have access to a book with all of our favorite places and what we recommend doing listed in sections: date night, family fun, outdoor adventure, restaurants, and shopping.
We do not allow pets in the apartment. We have 2 different, reasonably priced pet boarding facilities within a 3 minute drive from our home, though.
In the front of our property, we have blueberry bushes, blackberries, raspberries, apple trees, peach trees, plum trees, and fig trees. The berry bushes are ripe for your picking for extended simultaneous swaps during the summer.
For longer swaps, you are welcome to our 18 person tent, camping gear, and 5 cots. With 10 state parks, there is so much to explore and an abundance of campgrounds on the lakes!
Guest access
You must walk down stone steps to access your private entrance and to access the pool. You have access to the bottom level of the home and the outdoor spaces. If a simultaneous swap, you are welcome to use the upstairs deck with its dining table and sectional sofa. The upstairs is not available during swaps where we are at home as we do not have window coverings up there to limit viewing access to our living quarters. We don’t want you to get an eye full on your trip. The swing set is off limits as that is our neighbor’s.
Notes
If we host you in the basement while we are still here-**There is a double locked door between our house and the downstairs apartment. We will never be in your space, and it is completely private with its own entrance. Quiet hours are 10pm-6:30am since we have kids in bed. Please note you will hear us walking around upstairs just as in an apartment. We are up by 6:30/7am, but we try our best to be as quiet as possible. We have one hypoallergenic, non-shedding 11 lb dog, Cockapoo. She is very quiet, stays only on our main floor, and has never been in the apartment. You may share the outdoor spaces with our family. If you would like to have privacy in the pool, please let me know beforehand and we can work out a couple hours each day of your stay for guaranteed privacy. We love making new friends and treat our guests like family but completely understand some prefer privacy and to keep to themselves. You can see us as much or as little as you like.**
If a simultaneous stay of 2 weeks or longer during May-September, please note you will have to help take care of the pool and hot tub. This is something we do ourselves and don’t hire out. We will send you a video showing how to do so as well as leave detailed instructions. We do have a robotic vacuum that makes taking care of it easy!
Please keep outdoor music at a respectful volume for our neighbors and turned off by 8:45pm.
This is also used as a rental unit so it is imperative it is left in the same condition as found since rental guests may arrive directly after your stay. We have it cleaned VERY extensively after each guest. We have three options. 1) We can each be responsible for our own cleaning- ie you clean your home after our stay there and we clean our home after your stay here. 2) We charge $150 cleaning fee and have the cleaner take care of it for you.

Neighbourhood
We are located in a wooded, spacious neighborhood. Most homes have at least 3 acres. If you don’t mind walking hills and enjoy some light exercise, it’s a lovely walk around our neighborhood. Our property is situated on 1 acre and surrounded by woods. We are in the country but just a short 8 minute drive to the city of Easley.
Getting to my home
You must have access to a car to get to our home.
Nearest airport
GSP (40 minutes) Asheville, NC (1 hr 15 minutes) Charlotte, NC (1 hr 50 minutes) Atlanta (2 hr 20 minutes)
Things to note: There are direct flights from New York to Asheville, NC with Allegiant Airlines at around $50-60 a person one way if flying internationally to here. I recommend flying into New York, taking the Allegiant flight to Asheville, and then driving the 1 hour 10 minutes to our home. It’ll save $200-$300 per ticket.
For other US travelers, make sure to check Asheville, NC with Allegiant. It will save you a lot of money and give you a nice stop in Asheville before making the short hour and 10 minute drive to our home!
Getting around
You will want to rent a car if you do not have one and if you aren’t car swapping with us. We are not within walking distance of any shops/restaurants. We have Mexican and Italian restaurants a 3 minute drive from our house. A large grocery store is a 5 minute drive from our house. The city is just an 8 minute drive. If we are doing a simultaneous swap, we are open to swapping cars!
