General Overview

Welcome to our comfortable and peaceful family home. This is the home where we live, work, and spend time together, and we enjoy sharing it with fellow home exchangers who appreciate a welcoming, well cared for space.

The Space

The home offers plenty of room to spread out. With five bedrooms and three bathrooms, it comfortably sleeps 11 to 12 guests. We also have a portable crib and two air mattresses available if needed. There are multiple living areas for relaxing or having quiet time, along with a large main living space where everyone can gather together. The playroom includes board games, puzzles, crafts, art supplies, and toys for younger children. For guests who work remotely, three bedrooms include desk space. One guest bedroom has a sit or stand desk, and the primary bedroom includes an additional portable AC unit for those who prefer a cooler sleeping environment. The entire home has central air. We enjoy cooking at home and keep the kitchen well stocked with the tools needed to prepare meals, including quality cookware. Coffee and tea drinkers will find an espresso machine, Keurig, standard coffee maker, and electric kettle available for use. The outdoor space includes an oversized pool with a ten foot deep end and diving board, as well as a removable child safety fence if needed. The backyard also has a fire pit with seating, a vegetable garden, and fruit trees. Guests are welcome to enjoy any fruits or vegetables that are ready. The property backs up to conservation land, which provides privacy and a quiet setting. Sleeping arrangements are as follows: Primary bedroom with a king bed and a futon with mattress topper, sleeping three. Bedroom two and playroom with a full size pull out sofa and foam topper, sleeping two. Bedroom three, girls’ room, with a full over full bunk bed, sleeping two to three comfortably. Bedroom four, guest room, with a pillow top queen bed, sleeping two. A pack and play is stored in this closet. Bedroom five, boys’ room, with two twin beds, sleeping two. A pack and play portable crib is also available. We want to note that this is our primary home and not a short term rental. It is clean, comfortable, and thoughtfully set up for guests, but it is also a lived in family home with ongoing projects and everyday use. Clear communication and mutual respect are important to us and have been a big part of why home exchanging has worked so well for our family. We value home exchange as a way to experience places through real homes and real lives. We enjoy traveling and always appreciate returning home, and we hope you feel comfortable and at ease during your stay here.

*** Just a heads up, we don't have any pets in our home and can't allow them due to a severe allergy one of our kids has. We absolutely love furry friends, but we have to admire them from a distance! *** When it comes to cleaning, we strongly prefer that our exchange friends leave the home as they found it; completely cleaned. However, if you’d rather not handle the cleaning yourself, you may have the option to pay for a professional cleaning service. I’m currently looking into finding a cleaning crew and their rates, so I’ll keep you updated on the cost. For simultaneous exchanges, we won’t ask for a cleaning fee unless you request one. The choice is entirely yours!

Neighbourhood

We live in a comfortable suburban Florida neighborhood. The neighborhood is quiet and walkable with a fishing pond on one side. There are areas of conservation, so we are often able to see and enjoy Florida wildlife. We have grocery stores, organic grocery stores, supercenters, home stores, clothing stores, specialty food stores, craft stores all within 3-4 miles. There are MANY restaurants nearby. We have chain restaurants, as well as Mom & Pop restaurants all within a few miles. We would love to send recommendations for some local restaurants. We love to fish and hang out at the beaches. We often fish at Green Key Beach, which is only 8 miles away. The best relaxation, fishing, and white sand beaches are Fred Howard Park (15 miles away) and the most famous is Honeymoon Island State Park (22 miles south). Go visit the Mermaids in Weeki Wachee (23 miles north) for a unique experience. Day trips we love to take: St. Petersburg (one of our favorite FL cities! A MUST VISIT town)- an hour away Disney- less than 2 hours away Universal- Just over 2 hours away Venice Beach (The Shark Teeth Capital of the WORLD)- about 1 hr 45 min away Busch Gardens- 45 min away Tampa (Bucs Stadium, Riverwalk, Museums, Florida Aquarium, Lowry Park Zoo)- 40 min away Tarpon Springs Sponge Docks- 25 minutes away

We are an adventurous family of 6. My husband and I are in our late 30's & early 40's and have been married since 2004, We have four kiddos; two boys, born in 2008 and 2010, along with two girls, born in 2006 and 2011. We are both business owners; I own a transaction coordinating business (real estate admin) and work entirely remotely from anywhere. Brian co-owns a financial planning practice and is also able to work remotely while maintaining his current office in our hometown. We are an active family who loves to experience new cities and new cultures together. All six of us are giant foodies! We love to eat at local restaurants and cook delicious meals from around the world. We are a tidy family and have instilled in our kids the value of leaving places better than we find them.
