People Like Us Local Guide
Happy to meet up for a chat or local walk round if you require as we live locally. The house is self check in and I also have an online welcome guide with lots of information about the house and the area. I can offer (for a cost) mid stay cleans from the house cleaner.
Paula's whole family are proper PLU members. Easy to communicate with, flexible and very respectful of their exchange partner's home.
Don't hesitate to welcome them into your place.
Paula and her family treated our home very well. It was spotless on our return and very well looked after.
The communication with them was excellent and they gave us some good recommendations of what to do in their area.
It’s a shame we didn’t get to meet them. From the communication with them and living in their home I think they really are people (and dog) like us.
Paula and her family are amazing and very thoughtful guests! We enjoyed our communication pre-arrival and while we had the simultaneous exchange very much. Our apartment was left in such an amazing state that our housecleaner didn't believe me that a family with kids stayed at our home. Always welcome to visit Cyprus anytime!
What a novel experience! Like travelling back in time to live on a country estate in Victorian England. The house, and indeed the whole village, preserved immaculately to conjure up the illusion. There was a wedding in the village church when we were there and it all looked so perfect. Lucky couple!
Paula's house is modest, but has everything you could need for a comfortable stay, and is very clean and tidy. The kids must indeed be well trained!
We didn't experience local transport links, but it's a very short drive directly into the centre of Chester. There's even a footpath beside the road that makes the route popular with joggers at the weekend.
Chester itself is a delight and remains undiminished since our last visit some 20 odd years ago. The same could not be said of Liverpool, which we also revisited. I feel embarrassed for tourists whose expectations are likely to be dashed. That two cities so close to each other could be so different is astonishing.
I used my usual yardstick to judge the success of our stay at Paula's place: and yes, my wife duly DID ask what house prices were like in the area.............
It was a lovely home and had everything that we needed. It is an easy 40 min walk into Chester and beautiful scenery all around. We really enjoyed our stay.
We had a brilliant times at Paula’s house. The village is very beautiful and their house is full of character and charm. It was spotlessly clean and had everything we needed. The garden is huge and the trampoline and swings were a great addition for our daughter. There’s a pretty walk to Chester along the river (75mins) and the town is probably the prettiest and oldest city we have been to in the UK. We would highly recommend their home, village and city.
We spent a wonderful time at Puala's family house! We loved everything: the house, the area, all the atmosphere! The house is so cozy we didn't want to get out :) Yet Eccleston is one of the most beautiful villages we saw in Britain, and we adored the walks around! The house itself is a family home, so everything you might need is there, the bed is comfortable, the kitchen is fully equipped. We took care of Toby, the family dog, and he's the smartest dog ever, and we felt like he was walking us rather than the opposite. So it was enjoyable and no hustle at all. Paula was very kind and easy to communicate, and we felt like we are friends even though we never met :)
Wonderful home, just right for our visit to the area and our family needs. Warm, clean, comfortable with all the facilities and amenities we needed. Easy to find the house, easy to park, easy to access, easy to settle in and relax.
Louise's home was perfect for our family. Communication before our arrival was clear and welcoming.
The house was clean, warm, spacious and well equipped. The treats for the children were especially welcomed.
The location was spot on, just a 5 minute walk to lots of shops, restaurants, cafes, takeouts and only a 10 min drive to the centre of Birmingham.
We all had a wonderful stay, thank you
Feedback for Louise·Simultaneous exchange·2 nights
Louise and partner looked after our house and left it clean for our return. They even stripped the bed and put towels in the bath making our late night return easier. It was a pleasure to host your trip to Chester.
Feedback for Vicky and John·Simultaneous exchange·2 nights
Vicky and John have a wonderful home, spacious, warm and cosy.
There is everything you need and more with a lovely welcome hamper making us feel special.
Our family really enjoyed our stay and really appreciated the extra bits.
Feedback for Vicky and John·Simultaneous exchange·2 nights
Vicky and John were super exchangers, lots of communication before & during the exchange and looked after our home. We would definitely exchange again and would recommend.
Feedback for Olesia & Oleg·Simultaneous exchange·7 nights
Perfect, Oleisa & Oleg's place is spacious, light, modern, comfy beds and well equipped.
Easy to get to from the airport & a perfect base for exploring. We loved having the cats for company too & they we're very easy to look after.
We especially loved the sunny balcony & the children loved the big TV.
Feedback for Olesia & Oleg·Simultaneous exchange·7 nights
Oleisa & Oleg we're very respectful guests, looked after our house well, cleaned it and took on looking after our old dog with his needs like he was theirs.
We were in constant communication before and throughout the exchange which was reassuring seeing pics of our dog.
Olesia gave us very good instructions for everything, good local information & was very quick to sort out a spare key when we accidentally locked ourselves out.
It's was also lovely to come back to clean towels & bedding after a long day travelling with the kids.
Feedback for Sarah·Non-Reciprocal exchange·1 night
Perfect guest, great communication, clean and tidy. Would be happy to host again.

It's just myself, my husband Rob and our teen daughter & tween son.
As we have a big combined family, spread across the UK, we love to visit them as much as possible. House swaps are perfect for us.
The four of us also love to see new places together and explore (mainly UK at the moment) we are not the best with temperature above 28° 🥵
Our travel is restricted to school holidays and I manage our holiday home changeovers so often have to make last minute holiday decision based on these bookings.
