This is our main family home -please message your dates and we will see if we can accommodate your stay, as we can stay in our second home.
I like to keep an orderly home with everything in its place and easy to clean but the children sometimes have other plans.
Tidy is how I would leave it for your stay and we have a cleaner who can come in after your stay. The gardener cuts the grass (front and side) every Tuesday or Thursday morning in spring/summer.
We have 2 paddle boards (full adult size & small adult/teenage size), a 2 seater kayak and 4 bikes (2 adults & 2 kids, under 13) that can be used.
The space
A 1880's house designed by English architect John Douglas who was inspired by French, German and Dutch architecture and the English Gotich era.
A 3 bedroom semi-detached house shares a drive with our neighbours to the back of the property. We have our own car parking area for 3 cars at the back.
Downstairs are 3 rooms:
*a small kitchen but perfectly formed (with electric oven/hob, microwave, large fridge freezer, dishwasher),
*a dining room with seating for 4 round the expanding table,
*a lounge with an open log burning fireplace, large 3 seater sofa and 2 side chairs.
Upstairs we have 3 double size bedrooms:
*2 child rooms each with a double bed,
*1 adult room with a king bed
There is also a family bathroom upstairs with a bath, overhead shower and toilet.
The garden is open onto the lane and wraps round 3 sides of the house and backs onto a mini wood. The back is private and set up for children with the old animal houses converted to play areas (sand, water, kitchen etc), a climbing frame, low trampoline, mini zip wire and ninja line, football area and space to just run around.
We use the side garden for seating (a bit of an adult area) and have an internal courtyard area too for more privacy. On the other side of the courtyard there is an outside toilet, washroom and a large 'den' room where we keep the paddle boards, store outdoor equipment and kids bits n bobs.
The washroom where you will find the washing machine, tumble dryer & clothes drying racks.
Only a few local villagers wander past the front of the house on their dog walk down the lane so it's quite private.
Guest access
We use the back door for access and this has 2 doors (porch area and internal door) We would therefore leave our 2 keys so you could lock both doors.
The front door can be used but the key is so large we tend to lock it from the inside and not use this for main access. Its mainly used for deliveries, guests or the postman.
Notes
We live in a quiet village where the neighbours know and look out for each other. The private estate we are attached too also has security so anyone staying here will need to respect the neighbours and village, as I know you will.
I also own a local 2-bed holiday home (Enjoy the Pause holiday home) in Chester city centre on a quiet cul-de-sac: www.enjoythepause.co.ukhttps://peoplelikeus.world/properties/15006

Neighbourhood
The village is rural but only 7 mins to the city centre by car, 20 minutes by bike or a 60 minute walk along the river.
The village has no shop but does have a village hall which hosts a few activities like Pilates, gong bath nights, dancing etc. Residents also have a pub night in the village hall on Wednesday night.
There is also a lovely church and grounds you can walk around and the river Dee is only 5 minutes down the hill from our house, near the village hall.
You can walk in both directions along the river for miles (one way to city centre or other direction to Aldford)
It's roughly 10k to the city centre and back to the house along the river, hubby does this regularly and it takes him 2 hours for the round trip.
Aldford is another estate-owned village with similar architecture and also has a village shop, pub and other amenities. This is also roughly a 60 minute walk along the river in the other direction.
The nearest supermarket (Tesco) is 15 minutes drive away and does local deliveries. It's in a central shopping area called Broughton Shopping Park (just over the boarder into Wales) and has top high-street brands and shops, restaurants, cafes and a cinema.
Getting to my home
There is a main train station in Chester centre but there are no buses into the village from the city centre so its a hire car, taxi or walk.
Nearest airport
Chester is 35 minutes from Liverpool Airport & 45 minutes from Manchester Airport by car/taxi.
Getting around
You will need a car to visit anywhere other than stroll around the small the village. You can walk into and back from the city centre along the river which is 1 hour each way.
Taxis will come back to the village if you have been out for the day/night but are less inclined to do a pick up from the village. We have however managed to get a taxi to pick us up from the house.
A few takeout companies (Deliveroo) will come to the village if you don't fancy cooking but they add on an extra delivery charge.

It was a lovely home and had everything that we needed. It is an easy 40 min walk into Chester and beautiful scenery all around. We really enjoyed our stay.
We had a brilliant times at Paula’s house. The village is very beautiful and their house is full of character and charm. It was spotlessly clean and had everything we needed. The garden is huge and the trampoline and swings were a great addition for our daughter. There’s a pretty walk to Chester along the river (75mins) and the town is probably the prettiest and oldest city we have been to in the UK. We would highly recommend their home, village and city.
We spent a wonderful time at Puala's family house! We loved everything: the house, the area, all the atmosphere! The house is so cozy we didn't want to get out :) Yet Eccleston is one of the most beautiful villages we saw in Britain, and we adored the walks around! The house itself is a family home, so everything you might need is there, the bed is comfortable, the kitchen is fully equipped. We took care of Toby, the family dog, and he's the smartest dog ever, and we felt like he was walking us rather than the opposite. So it was enjoyable and no hustle at all. Paula was very kind and easy to communicate, and we felt like we are friends even though we never met :)
Thank you so much, you are welcome back anytime. Toby misses you both x
It was as if nobody had even been in the house. All was left very neat and tidy. Thanks
Paula and her family treated our home very well. It was spotless on our return and very well looked after.
The communication with them was excellent and they gave us some good recommendations of what to do in their area.
It’s a shame we didn’t get to meet them. From the communication with them and living in their home I think they really are people (and dog) like us.
Paula and her family are amazing and very thoughtful guests! We enjoyed our communication pre-arrival and while we had the simultaneous exchange very much. Our apartment was left in such an amazing state that our housecleaner didn't believe me that a family with kids stayed at our home. Always welcome to visit Cyprus anytime!
We must have trained the children well :) We all really enjoyed our stay and loved your apartment...definitely would love to revisit x
Louise's home was perfect for our family. Communication before our arrival was clear and welcoming.
The house was clean, warm, spacious and well equipped. The treats for the children were especially welcomed.
The location was spot on, just a 5 minute walk to lots of shops, restaurants, cafes, takeouts and only a 10 min drive to the centre of Birmingham.
We all had a wonderful stay, thank you
Louise and partner looked after our house and left it clean for our return. They even stripped the bed and put towels in the bath making our late night return easier. It was a pleasure to host your trip to Chester.
Vicky and John have a wonderful home, spacious, warm and cosy.
There is everything you need and more with a lovely welcome hamper making us feel special.
Our family really enjoyed our stay and really appreciated the extra bits.
Vicky and John were super exchangers, lots of communication before & during the exchange and looked after our home. We would definitely exchange again and would recommend.
Perfect, Oleisa & Oleg's place is spacious, light, modern, comfy beds and well equipped.
Easy to get to from the airport & a perfect base for exploring. We loved having the cats for company too & they we're very easy to look after.
We especially loved the sunny balcony & the children loved the big TV.
Oleisa & Oleg we're very respectful guests, looked after our house well, cleaned it and took on looking after our old dog with his needs like he was theirs.
We were in constant communication before and throughout the exchange which was reassuring seeing pics of our dog.
Olesia gave us very good instructions for everything, good local information & was very quick to sort out a spare key when we accidentally locked ourselves out.
It's was also lovely to come back to clean towels & bedding after a long day travelling with the kids.
Perfect guest, great communication, clean and tidy. Would be happy to host again.
