Internal pictures to come...it was too messy to take them today, kids have just made a den in the lounge and upturned their bedrooms for den resources !
This is our main family home, please message to see what dates suit you and we will see if we can accommodate your stay.
I do like to keep an orderly home with everything in its place and easy to clean (the children sometimes have other plans).
Tidy is how I would leave it for your stay and we have a regular cleaner who comes every Wednesday afternoon. The gardener cuts the grass (front and side) every Tuesday morning in spring/summer.
We have 2 paddleboards (full adult size & small adult/teenage size), a 2 seater kayak and 4 bikes (2 adult & 2 kids) that can be used.
We could also leave our family BMW car, old but works, if its a longer exchange and we are also abroad so not using the car.
A 1880's designed house by English architect John Douglas who was inspired by French, German and Dutch architecture and the English Gotich era.
A 3 bedroom semi detached house shares a drive with our neighbours to the back of the property. We have our own car parking area for 3 cars at the back.
The garden is open onto the lane and wraps round 3 sides of the house and backs onto a mini wood. The back is private and set up for children with the old animal houses converted to play areas (sand, water, kitchen etc), a climbing frame, low trampoline, football area, see-saw and space to just run around.
We use the side garden for seating (a bit of an adult area and have an internal courtyard area too for more privacy. Only a few local villagers wander past the front on their dog walk down the lane.
Our own dog is 13 years only and needs 1 walk down the lane a day (roughly a 20 minute woodland walk) with stunning views of the welsh hillside over the bridge.
Downstairs are 3 rooms, a small kitchen, a dining room and a lounge with an open log burning fire place. Upstairs we have 3 double bedrooms (2 children's, 1 adult) and a family bathroom. On the other side of the courtyard there is an outside toilet, washroom and a large 'den' room.
We use the back door for access and this has 2 doors (porch area and internal door) We would therefore leave our 2 keys so you could lock both doors.
The front door can be used but the key is so large we tend to lock it from the inside and not use this for main access. Its mainly used for deliveries, guests or the postman.
We live in a quiet village where the neighbours know and look out for each other. The private estate we are attached too also has security so anyone staying here will need to respect the neighbours and village, as I know you will.

The village is rural but only 7 mins to the city centre by car, 20 minutes by bike or a 50/60 minute walk a long the river.
The village has no amenities but a lovely church and grounds. Also a village hall which hosts a few activates like Pilates, gong bath nights, dancing. Residents also have a pub night in the village hall on Wednesday night.
The nearest supermarket is 15 minutes away and does deliveries.
Chester is 35 minutes from Liverpool Airport & 45 minutes from Manchester Airport by car/taxi.
You will need a car to visit anywhere other than stroll around the small the village. Or you could walk into and back from the city centre in an hour as some residents do. Taxis will come back to the village if you have been out for the day/night but are less inclined to do a pick up from the village. A few takeout companies will come to the village if you don't fancy cooking

"We are a chilled family with two children (now 7&10). We like our lazy days at home, catching up with friends and family as well as exploring our beautiful country (UK)
We are hoping to start travelling and widening the children's (and our) world view in a year (home / world schooling along the way) and would love to visit not just tourist hotspots but real local emersion.
My husband & I run our own businesses and can work from anywhere so can't wait to get going.
I run a holiday home in Chester (city centre) which I'm happy to use as an exchange property as well as the family home (rural Chester) that we live in.
We definitely couldn't live without Netflix, disco lights, wifi, dishwasher and the washing machine."
