General overview
Our home is located in southwest Florida where Coral Creek meets Gasparilla Sound, at the foot of the causeway to Boca Grande. We’re a beach community on the Gulf of Mexico.
This lovely French Mediterranean style home is complete with 3 bdrms/3 bath, awe-inspiring outside decks, a Pool, jacuzzi and ELEVATOR that leads to all 3 floors. Access to a plethora of amenities, including; swimming pools, tennis courts, clubhouses, gym and a private ferry to 7 miles of beach on little Gasparilla Island.
Just 5 miles over the causeway is an award winning, classy beach town of Boca Grande. Plenty eateries, shops, and beaches to enjoy.
We are halfway between Naples and Tampa (2 hours to each). Orlando is 2.5 hours to the east. Key West can be reached by ferry in 3.5 hours from Fort Myers, just south from us. And Miami is 3 hour drive due east. There are several surrounding towns offering a plethora of activities and sites worth exploring in southwest Florida.
There is never a shortage of events in the downtown area of Venice. Some favorites include; juried art festivals, music festivals, sand castle competition, chalk festival, shark tooth festival and the Suncoast BBQ festival.
One hour north of us you’ll find all kinds of fun in Sarasota, including; Marie Shelby Botanical Gardens, Mote Marine Aquarium, Ringling Museum, Mayakka State Park, and more attractions. Sarasota also has a vibrant downtown with galleries, fine dining and lots of local shopping. Bike Sarasota Legacy trail or kayak (or paddle board) exotic Lido Key mangrove tunnels, hike & observe birds and alligators at Mayakka State Park or enjoy many more activities!
Enjoy the world-famous Siesta Key beach - rated the best beach in the USA! With powder like sand, made of quartz that doesn’t heat your feet and provides crystal clear blue water. Just 3 miles further is Turtle Beach - both public beaches with plenty of parking. In fact you’ll find several public (and free) beaches on the barrier islands that stretch for miles from Anna Maria Island to Casey Key. Sunbathe, swim, snorkel, go shelling or watch the sun set into the beautiful Gulf of Mexico.
The space
There are 3 bedrooms and 3 bathrooms, a study, rec room, and an elevator for easy access. Two rooms have queen size beds and the Master has a California king size bed. We also have 2 queen size and 4 twin size air mattresses with all the bedding available.
The amazing decks all around the home provides for the perfect spot to watch sunsets and sunrises! The heated pool & jacuzzi in the back is an added bonus as well as a floating dock to launch kayaks that are also made available.
In addition to swimming, BBQ’s, kayaking, we offer plenty of games, books and bikes to enjoy during your stay. We provide beach chairs, beach towels, umbrella and wagon for the beach as well.
Guest access
Guests will have access to the entire home except the garages. The driveway provides for 5-6 cars parking. The front door is equipped with NEST’s Yale lock. An assigned code and instructions will be given just prior to your arrival.
There’s an elevator in the home that reaches all 3 floors. Access via wheelchair is through the back and up thru the elevator to the main part of the home.
This home also includes access to The Placida Harbour Club amenities: A private ferry, Island Passage, cruises 10 minutes to Little Gasparilla Island, where you’ll find another clubhouse with pool and 7 miles of crystal blue water and sandy beach.
Back at our deep water harbor on the Cape Haze Peninsula, we also offer two more pools, a hot tub, and Clubhouse, complete with fitness facilities, card room, pool table, tennis and pickle ball courts.
Notes
Great place for R&R, sunset watching, boating, kayaking, cycling, and fishing. The home itself provides wonderful privacy in the back.
There are plenty of boat rentals in the area and makes for a fun adventurous day on the water, even if it’s your first time driving a boat.
We have a small dog named Capri. She has lots of furry friends in the neighborhood and is very loving. We would love if Capri could stay at the home and be cared for. If not, we could board her in a kennel.
The home is equipped with a NEST system which provides easy check in. A code is provided to the guest before check in. The home is also equipped with outside security for safety.
Please note, due to family members health matters, we cannot exchange with anyone that smokes.
We are a very clean and respectful family. We take good care to leave others home clean and expect the same in return. I suppose we all feel this way, right?
While we prefer our home is left as you found it, we understand there are circumstances where you prefer or need to have someone else clean for you. If this is the case, we ask that you let us know before you leave, and we will arrange to have our cleaning crew provide the service. They charge $200.. Which can be left on the counter.

Neighbourhood
The home is in a well kept quiet neighborhood. From time to time (usually early mornings) you'll see neighbors walking their dogs, riding bikes or golf carts. But otherwise, the neighborhood is quiet and well kept.
As mentioned, you will have access to all the club amenities, including ferry rides to the island beach.
Getting to my home
The home is located in the southwest of Florida at the base of Boca Grande causeway. A car is needed to get around to the various restaurants and beaches. Many travelers would do best by flying into either Sarasota or Fort Myers airports.
Nearest airport
Sarasota airport is 50 miles - 1 hour drive.
Southwest (Fort Myers) airport is 68 miles - 1 hour 15 minutes.
Getting around
Several boutiques and restaurants are in the town and nearby beach towns. But to shop at large malls or shopping centers, you would want to drive to Sarasota or Port Charlotte or other nearby towns. These towns are about 45 minutes drive.
This is a beach town and out on the water. So beaches and boutiques are abundant.
