Neighbourhood
Sunshine Beach is a quiet, residential area, very much sought after, with friendly locals. It’s more of a morning town, with thriving cafes, locals walking/swimming/surfing; not a party town.
Nearest airport
The nearest airport is the Sunshine Coast Airport, less than 30 minutes away.
Getting around
Whilst you would not need a car if staying in Sunshine Beach, as the village and beach are an easy walk away, we recommend you exploring the larger area, in which case, a vehicle would be essential. If you head in to Hastings Street, and wish to enjoy a drink or two, it’s easy to get a taxi/Uber back, and it’s only 3km away.

We loved our stay in Sunshine Beach with Nette in their wonderful home. After staying two nights in Yugar with Nette and Andrew, we were invited to also stay in their sunshine beach house, which we really loved.
With Nette around we were able to get a small taste of a locals life :) Although we had quite some rain, we enjoyed going out, making boardwalks and staying at the beach. Nette was amazing, she invited us to join with her friends and I absolutely enjoyed the socializing.
Thank you very much and hopefully see you soon again in Germany!
We can highly recommend Nette´s place in Noosa close to Sunshine beach :) Large home with nice lounge area and beautiful bedrooms. We visited the Beach Club nearby several times, nice food and fantastic views! We walked through a part of the national park nearby, highly recommended. We did not see any koalas but we saw about 12 kangaroos visiting the golf club where we heard they like to hang around :)
Nette was very nice and answered very promptly to our questions and had a lot of recommendations to share. We were a bit unlucky with the weather with quite a lot of rain but ve of course enjoyed our visit despite of that :)
We had a great time and will remember it forever!
Greetings from Sweden, Anna and Cecilia that celebrated our 50th birthdays :)
We had the most wonderful four days in Nette & Andrew's home on Sunshine Beach, Noosa. We were on a big 3-week trip around Australia and this was right at the end. Talk about saving the best to last! Such a beautiful home and location close to the beach and National Park. We loved it and wished we had more time there. Nette was so easy to communicate with and we were delighted to meet them both at the beginning of our stay. You will be very lucky if you get to exchange with this home.
We had a beautiful time in Noosa, Nette and Andrew were wonderful hosts and gave us all the information we needed to enjoy our stay.
The house was wonderful and very comfortable, the location was perfect a walk away from Sunshine Beach..wow what more can you ask for.
Thank you Nette for letting us stay in your gorgeous beach house ❤️
Nette's house is just amazing. The call it Beach & Birds and you will know why when you open all the windows. You can hear the ocean and the birds outside the house sings all day long.
The house has tasteful beach decorations throughout. It's spacious and has an open feel with plenty of patios and windows that open. Bedrooms are big and very comfortable beds.
It's only 10 min walk to the beach and to shops and a restaurant overlooking the ocean.
Nette & Andrew were so helpful and easy to communicate with the whole time. We would go back to Noosa and their house anytime, we had such a great time there!
We had an amazing stay at Nette’s home in Noosa. The house is well equipped, comfortable, spacious, bright, extremely clean and perfect for a family of 5. The location is perfect: walking distance to the gorgeous sunshine beach, Noosa National park, Noosa Junction and several restaurants, cafes, boutiques and stores. It’s located on a quiet street and backs up to a park that was perfect for kids to play and see the birds. The balconies are perfect to enjoy your morning coffee and enjoy the sun & birds. Nette was the perfect host with many amazing tips and recommendations as well as always being very prompt. This was one of our favorite exchanges on PLU!!
Nette’s home is perfect (See my previous feedback for more details!)
They were good guests and left the house in fine condition. Communications went smooth. I would recommend for future exchanges.
Nette and her husband were a delight to host! Wow polite, respectful and treated our home beautifully. We’d happily recommend to any future people looking to swap.
The perfect guests 🩷
Nette was an exemplary guest. Left our home in perfect condition, even changed our remote batteries and tidied up our yard. Communication with Nette is always friendly and prompt.
I would happily host her any time!
Nette and her friend were amazing guests. They enjoyed our home and treated it as their own. Leaving it very clean. Communication with Nette was perfect, she is always prompt and polite. We are happy she could enjoy our place while enjoying the cold Colorado winter!
Nette and her friend Linda were fantastic guests in our home! Nette’s communication before she arrived was very good and informative. When Nette arrived she was very nice and had a warm personality. Both Nette and Linda were very appreciative of their stay with us. They were tidy and neat and fit right in with our household. It was so fun getting to know them while they were here. We can’t wait to go visit Nette and Linda in Australia.
We enjoyed having Anita, Matthias and Simon stay with us; they were great company to have over a meal. They were thoughtful and appreciative, very tidy, and fitted right in to our home, and we'd happily have them back. I think of Anita most days now, as every time I pack my Thermomix bowl in to the dishwasher, I am reminded of her fabulous Thermomix tips!!
It was a pleasure to host Anita, Matthias and Simon and they could not have been more helpful with tidying and washing sheets etc before they departed, and this was most appreciated. I wish the weather could have been nicer for their stay, but they continued to enjoy their surrounds stoically! It was nice to take Anita along to a girls' night out, and she just fitted in like she'd always been there. We hope to catch up again, in Munich one day..
It was a pleasure to host Anna and Cecilia. Communication was great, prompt and friendly, and they did not make a fuss when the dishwasher died during their stay (in fact, they were most helpful in helping us to sort it out). Anna and Cecilia left our property in a neat and clean manner and we would happily have them back again. We're just sorry that there wasn't a lot of sun in Sunshine Beach during their stay!
We felt very comfortable at Gemma's lovely home, and enjoyed the water views from the deck at the end of a big day of exploring. The house is clean, light and bright and even taking a shower was a joy, looking out over the lawn through to the water. We would recommend a day trip to nearby Maria Island, as that was a highlight of our stay, and the boat leaves from nearby Triabunna, only 6 mins away. You can walk along the waterfront to the nearby EastCoaster restaurant, where we had quite a nice meal. Good base to head up to Bicheno and Wineglass Bay, or south to Port Arthur. Or, just relax in the peaceful surrounds!
Vanessa and Matt were a pleasure to meet, and carefully looked after our home, our cat and kept the wild birds well fed for 2 weeks. They left fresh clean bed linen for our arrival home after a long day of travel, which was most appreciated. Vanessa and Matt were easy to get along with and we look forward to catching up with them in France later in the year.
Our second stay at Annelies' home was just as good as the first. A wonderful mix of old charm and practical and modern convenience; perfect for our requirements. Elk in the yard, and deer most days, and the chipmunks entertained us each morning. We loved having the wildlife around, yet being so close to town. Annelies is a sterling host and very responsive and helpful. You won't regret an exchange here.
It was great to meet Rachel and her lovely family; they were friendly, well mannered, and very respectful. Our home was left beautifully neat and clean, despite the early departure time (and we all know how hard that can be)! We truly wished the delightful family could have stayed longer to enjoy the Noosa lifestyle, and we do hope to meet up again some time. We'd very comfortably recommend the Daly family to any future hosts.
We had a lovely stay in Annelies' home, and loved waking up in the mornings to beautiful sunrises, and to find more snow outside. Each new day, we'd get a thrill out of checking for animal prints in the snow, then seeing deer and elk right in the back yard. The bed in the master bedroom is gloriously comfortable, and the area is so quiet, it provided a great night's sleep every night. A lovely modern but character kitchen made us feel comfortable and at home, with everything you'd need. We enjoyed exploring the area each day; there's a lot to see. The house is so handy to the shops and restaurants, yet feels miles away, and we liked that.
It was a delight to host Sheena and Archy. Sheena was so lovely to communicate with, and went over and above in leaving our property neat as a pin. Unfortunately we didn't get to meet up this time due to a clash of itineraries, but we hope to be able to do so on their next trip to Queensland. We'd welcome Sheena and Archy back any time.
Lena was prompt and friendly with her communication, and she and her friend were very respectful of our holiday home, leaving it neat and tidy. She was such a great guest, we've since welcomed her back to stay with us. Whilst we haven't stayed at Lena's place just yet, she was kind enough to have us for lunch when we were passing through and drop us at Denver airport, so we're certainly looking forward to completing the exchange with another trip to Colorado and seeing Lena and her lovely family again.
Kira and her lovely family were a delight to stay with. They were very kind and made us feel right at home, in a beautiful, tidy house, in a lovely and quiet part of Denver. We just loved looking out to the golf course - always hopeful of seeing a coyote - and the snowy Rocky Mountains beyond. It was pretty cold whilst we were there in February, but we always felt warm and snug in their spacious home. Staying at Kira's place was the perfect welcome to Colorado for us, and we are very appreciative of their warm hospitality.
We look forward to meeting up with them again, when they can make it to Queensland.
Annelies was easy to communicate with; very responsive and helpful. She and her lovely family were respectful of our home, and very understanding in the face of renovations dragging on in to their stay. Others could have made the situation a nightmare for us as hosts, but Annelies took it all in her stride, and helped out so much. We are very grateful for this and would happily recommend Annelies and her family to future hosts.
"We head to Broomfield CO every year, and like to follow that with a week or so in a quiet, country setting (preferably in the mountains)."
