General Overview
Welcome to ‘Birds & Beach’ where you can fall asleep to the sound of waves, and be awoken by birdsong.
Surrounded by trees and parkland on two sides, our house is private, and located in central Sunshine Beach, a quiet, residential area; an easy walk to the village with its upmarket cafes, and restaurants, and the general store. Then there’s the famous Surf Club, where you can enjoy dining on the deck, overlooking the miles of beach; perhaps we’re a bit biased, but you will be hard pressed to find a better beach anywhere.
We are close to the entrance of Noosa National Park where you can enjoy trails along the spectacular coastline, all the way to Noosa Main Beach and Hastings Street, with its boutique shopping and fine dining.
Use as a base to explore the quaint hinterland villages, the sublime countryside, or even head to Fraser Island for a day trip, a World Heritage Listed Island, famous for its turquoise lakes and dingoes.
The famous Eumundi Markets are on each Saturday, and the local farmers’ markets every Sunday.
Noosa is one of the leading upmarket holiday destinations in the country, with plenty to do. Just check the Noosa Tourism Board for information, but for starters, there’s beautiful beaches, National Parks, horse riding on Noosa North Shore, bike tours, adventure rafting, a ferry trip on the Noosa river to the marina, classic boat cruises, sunset cruises, deep sea fishing, surfing, or simply enjoying a sunset cocktail, or dining in some of the best restaurants in the country, overlooking the beach/bay.
We have just opened up the calendar again after completing a laundry renovation, so there is plenty of availability.
The Space
The master bedroom suite takes up the entire top level. It captures the sea breezes, and has its own balcony, walk in closet, and ensuite bathroom. It has a king size bed, and a smart tv with Netflix, Prime, Britbox etc
The middle level is the living area, comprising kitchen, dining and sitting areas, plus powder room. It has its own balcony overlooking the trees and parkland.
The lower level comprises two further bedrooms, which share another bathroom, leading out to another deck. The ‘Yellow Room” has another king sized bed, whilst the ‘Blue Room’ has two king single beds.
We have decorated the home to bring the outside in (reflecting the beautiful blues of the Coral Sea, the tropical surrounds, and the beach vibes).
Guest Access
The house is spread out over 3 levels, so climbing stairs is a must, we’re sorry.
There is an integrated large garage for parking, and further parking out the front, on the quiet street.
Notes
We have a professional cleaning company come in after every stay, to launder the linen, clean and prepare the property, ready for the next guests. We would ask you to leave the cost of this for the cleaner. It is usually AUD$300. If you are a couple and thus the bottom floor is not used, the cost is $200.
We are happy to accept globes for this property for up to a week, but it is unlikely we can arrange reciprocal exchanges for 2025 as we already have many trips organised.

Neighbourhood
Sunshine Beach is a quiet, residential area, very much sought after, with friendly locals. It’s more of a morning town, with thriving cafes, locals walking/swimming/surfing; not a party town.
Getting to my home
There are shuttles from both Sunshine Coast Airport and Brisbane Airport (for International Arrivals). Or, pick up a hire car, as it’s a pretty easy drive up the coast. We recommend Apex Rentals.
Nearest airport
The nearest airport is the Sunshine Coast Airport, less than 30 minutes away.
Getting Around
Whilst you would not need a car if staying in Sunshine Beach, as the village and beach are an easy walk away, we recommend you exploring the larger area, in which case, a vehicle would be essential. If you head in to Hastings Street, and wish to enjoy a drink or two, it’s easy to get a taxi/Uber back, and it’s only 3km away.

We spent a week in June 2025 at Nettes beautiful home in Sunshine beach. The weather was just perfect for us, sunny and over 20 degrees every day. We really enjoyed staying in Nettes home. The bed was super comfortable, kitchen was well equipped for cooking, we enjoyed the views from the balcony and eating breakfast there every morning. The house was very close to the national park where we enjoyed walking. It was walking distance to the beach, cafes and restaurants. We rented a car for the week so we could explore further like Noosa marina, Tewantin national park and Eumundi markets. We were also planning on going to Fraser island, but we enjoyed our time in Sunshine beach and Noosa so much, we decided to save that for next time. Nette was a wonderful host, she was always quick replying to messages and she sent us a lot of information about the area and gave good tips about car hires. We had the best time in her beautiful home and we would love to come back some day! Thank you so much for this fantastic exchange. -
We loved our stay in Sunshine Beach with Nette in their wonderful home. After staying two nights in Yugar with Nette and Andrew, we were invited to also stay in their sunshine beach house, which we really loved. With Nette around we were able to get a small taste of a locals life :) Although we had quite some rain, we enjoyed going out, making boardwalks and staying at the beach. Nette was amazing, she invited us to join with her friends and I absolutely enjoyed the socializing. Thank you very much and hopefully see you soon again in Germany! -
We can highly recommend Nette´s place in Noosa close to Sunshine beach :) Large home with nice lounge area and beautiful bedrooms. We visited the Beach Club nearby several times, nice food and fantastic views! We walked through a part of the national park nearby, highly recommended. We did not see any koalas but we saw about 12 kangaroos visiting the golf club where we heard they like to hang around :) Nette was very nice and answered very promptly to our questions and had a lot of recommendations to share. We were a bit unlucky with the weather with quite a lot of rain but ve of course enjoyed our visit despite of that :) We had a great time and will remember it forever! Greetings from Sweden, Anna and Cecilia that celebrated our 50th birthdays :) -
We had the most wonderful four days in Nette & Andrew's home on Sunshine Beach, Noosa. We were on a big 3-week trip around Australia and this was right at the end. Talk about saving the best to last! Such a beautiful home and location close to the beach and National Park. We loved it and wished we had more time there. Nette was so easy to communicate with and we were delighted to meet them both at the beginning of our stay. You will be very lucky if you get to exchange with this home. -

Nette's house is just amazing. The call it Beach & Birds and you will know why when you open all the windows. You can hear the ocean and the birds outside the house sings all day long. The house has tasteful beach decorations throughout. It's spacious and has an open feel with plenty of patios and windows that open. Bedrooms are big and very comfortable beds. It's only 10 min walk to the beach and to shops and a restaurant overlooking the ocean. Nette & Andrew were so helpful and easy to communicate with the whole time. We would go back to Noosa and their house anytime, we had such a great time there! -
We had an amazing stay at Nette’s home in Noosa. The house is well equipped, comfortable, spacious, bright, extremely clean and perfect for a family of 5. The location is perfect: walking distance to the gorgeous sunshine beach, Noosa National park, Noosa Junction and several restaurants, cafes, boutiques and stores. It’s located on a quiet street and backs up to a park that was perfect for kids to play and see the birds. The balconies are perfect to enjoy your morning coffee and enjoy the sun & birds. Nette was the perfect host with many amazing tips and recommendations as well as always being very prompt. This was one of our favorite exchanges on PLU!! -
