General overview
Our house has an ever-changing gorgeous view overlooking Lake Arenal and the Arenal Volcano.
For our house, we are seeking possible exchanges for a globe for 1-2 weeks or more time if we are looking for your destination. We would be interested in 3 or more days reciprocal exchanges within Costa Rica.
.
We have a small casita that sleeps 3 on the same property, which is available much of the time. See #10448
The space
The house is about 150 sq. Meters, 1600 square feet. It is fairly modern and has all amenities needed for comfort including a cook‘s kitchen, an office/studio, walk in shower with hot water, one bedroom with a queen bed and the other with a double bed and a loft with a blowup mattress. There are 3 large outdoor covered spaces.
We have fast internet that is as reliable as it gets in Costa Rica (95%).
Guest access
One level, parking next to house and casita.
Notes
We’re at an elevation where the temperatures are moderate (70’s-80’s) year around.
We’re not in a touristy area, but we are daytrip times away from many places. We’re located in an area with many trails for walking, close to lake amenities, waterfall parks and much nature! We have friendly dogs (plus usually a foster or two, and two independent cats, who will be there to greet you. This is a great place to relax, work remotely, or decompress after a day of activities and site seeing.
We have someone do a general cleaning including washing and changing all linens once per week. Olga is here for a half day, and if you would like she can stay on and cook some delicious Costa Rican dishes for you.
We are plant based so don’t have a grill, rotisserie or roasting pans.

Neighbourhood
Our neighborhood is rural with lots of trees and pastureland. Some of our neighbors are monkeys, toucans, and birds. We have a few human neighbors as well who are friendly and helpful.
Getting to my home
It is easiest to get to our home and get around by car, but possible by bus. We can arrange pick up from the airport for a fee.
Nearest airport
The small International Liberia airport (LIR) is just an hour away, and recommended. The San Jose Airport (SJO) is a 3 1/2 hour drive.
Getting around
We are a 10 minute drive to Tilaran, a large town with all amenities. We are also close to San Luis (small pueblo) and Tronadora (a small town), We may be willing to trade vehicles for close trips to town, but prefer guests rent a car or hire a ride to further destinations.

Jamie
We are Jamie and Marco, a couple who have retired to Costa Rica from Washington State in the US where we had a custom home building business (Jamie-architect, Marco-builder). We love to host visitors as well as travel to explore new places.
"Would like to travel many places, but particularly Seattle where we have family."
People Like Us is the world's most trusted home exchange community. We believe in sharing, trust, generosity, respect, communication, equality, cooperation, honesty, hospitality, friendship, flexibility and adventure. We take pride in our homes and we care about the environment in which we live: our village, city, country and our planet. We care about the ethos of home exchange and we do it because we love the experience and the friendships that it generates.
