Today is PLU’s 2nd birthday. 🎂
Today, two years ago after about 9 months of work, I hit the button to launch my website.
It felt like nothing much happened for quite a few months but by our first birthday, things were humming along really nicely.
Another year on, we’re a lot bigger (about 4 times bigger in fact), lots more people have had exchanges and loads of our members have met each other.
Me included!
My big thing this last year was that Kathy and I got to go to Europe and meet lots of PLU’s. Our nights in Amsterdam (thank you Klaas and Tony!) and Paris (thank you Alexandra) were just fabulous. Thank you to everyone who came. I still can’t quite believe how wonderful those events were. This is what I want to do more of over the next year!
Last year we had a cake and a little celebration. This year there are much bigger things going on in the world.
We’re all taking a bit of a pause in our travel but I’m so happy that this community is strong.
It’s funny that in the time when we can’t do what we got together to do, the beauty of this PLU community is shining brighter than ever.
I hope on our 3rd birthday that this is all history, that we’re all travelling and staying at each other’s places and all of this is in our past. ✈️🌏
Thank you to my little team of mods, helpers and advisors, to my PLU friends, to all our members who’ve brought so much to our community.
Together we’ve built the kindest, most positive, happiest home exchange community in the world. It’s hard to believe it’s only two years old. Congratulations to all of us!
