Visão Geral

Our 1920 center hall colonial is located in Cleveland Heights, one of the first suburbs of Cleveland, just a few miles east of downtown. Our city has an urban feel with multiple commercial districts, walkability, diversity, and a thriving arts scene. We love the charm and character of our home and our neighborhood. We also love our neighbors!!

O espaço

Our home is a 2000sq ft center hall colonial with 3 above ground floors. 1st floor: - entry way - living room with couch, 2 chairs, piano, gas fireplace -dining room with a round table that can fit 4-6 but can be expanded with 2 leaves that are in the basement -kitchen *we love to make delicious food and we take pride in having high quality knives, pots, pans, and other kitchen items* 2nd floor: - bedroom with a crib (we have a twin size blow up mattress that we could put in here if needed) - bedroom with a full size bed * this is our bedroom but please note that none of our bedrooms are attached to the full bath. I guess en suite bathrooms were not a thing in 1920. - bedroom with two separate twin beds -bedroom with a twin bed that has a trundle underneath it and is connected to a jack and jill half bath that also connects to the bedroom with the crib - full bath with an enclosed cinderella tub/shower 3rd floor: -this is where my husband works from home and there is also a full bathroom up there, a full bed, and a twin bed. This might be locked off or could be utilized based on your needs. There are also two large walk in closets that we use for storage. Basement: - very much a cellar. We store our shoes and coats at the bottom of the stairs in a makeshift mudroom because those apparently also were not a thing in 1920. But other than that we just keep our skis down there and that is where our laundry machines are. We also have a laundry chute that lets out down there! Which is actually still a total delight for me because as a kid I always wanted to have one :)

Notas

We don't have pets and we don't wear our shoes in the house. Thank you so much for respecting this!

Vizinhança

Walkable: Within walking distance (half a mile or less), we have 2 grocery stores , 2 really good coffee shops, a brewery, and a commercial district called Coventry Village, with restaurants, shops, an independent bookseller, a music venue, an asian bakery with great bubble tea, antique shops, etc. It was a popular hangout for hippies in the 70s and it has maintained its funky and fun vibe. Still walking distance but a bit farther afield (less than 1 mile away and it takes us between 15/20 minutes to walk) we have two different commercial districts - each in a different direction. To the west is Cedar Fairmount (commercial district) which is probably our favorite of the 3. It's home to Zhug, which Cleveland Scene magazine called " Cleveland's most important dining experience" recently. We can attest that it is amazing middle eastern food and we can't get enough of it. There is also a delicious bakery/cafe, great taco spot & a dinner spot (both with great patios), our favorite neapolitan pizza at Vero, a starbucks, a chipotle, an independent book shop, and some other shops. To the southeast we have the Cedar Lee District which has an independent movie house that shows all the latest indie films. It's called the Cedar Lee Theater and it is historic and a total delight. There are also more restaurants, a few breweries, a great Ethiopian restaurant, a french bakery, a kids toyshop, a couple good pizza places, a couple wine spots, and a few shops. If you don't want the grocery store that's walkable from our home, there is a Whole foods a 10 minute drive away. Aldi is a 15 minute drive. 1 mile away is Lakeview Cemetery where President James Garfield is entombed. The docents do a great job talking about the details of the memorial. It sounds silly but we visit Lakeview multiple times a year for their Daffodil Hill, the autumnal colors, to tour the Garfield Memorial or to sit in the Wade Chapel that has an unbelievable Tiffany glass installation. Next to Lakeview is Little Italy which has several delicious italian restaurants, cafes, gelato shops. We walk here in the summer, grab a pizza and eat at the playground with our kids. A lot of outdoor seating right on the sidewalks with Italian music playing so it's a fun atmosphere. Just beyond Little Italy is Wade Oval (2 miles away from our home) which is home to Case Western Reserve University, the Cleveland Orchestra, Cleveland's Botanical Gardens, the Western Reserve Historical Society, Cleveland's Natural History Museum and the Cleveland Museum of Art. The art museum has the 4th largest endowment of any art museum in the US and one of the ways they use it is to make admission free to all visitors. You could spend an entire week in there or just pop in for an hour. It's free and atrium is gorgeous so you should at least pop in. 15 minutes away by car: Downtown Cleveland The Rock n Roll Hall of Fame Guardians Baseball Games Browns football games Cavaliers basketball games Heinen's grocery store Great Lakes Science Center Free walking tours Public Square splash pad Terminal Tower Observation Deck 30 minutes away by car: Cuyahoga Valley National Park Boston Mills/Brandywine Ski resorts Tons of easy and beautiful hikes Bike paths Chagrin Falls (really cute architecture and downtown area) 90 minutes away via car: Cedar Point (huge amusement park with record breaking roller coasters) Put-in-Bay (an island of Lake Erie with tons to do! A fun ferry ride over)

Chegando em minha casa

You can fly into CLE (Cleveland Hopkins International Airport) or drive. We are just 5 miles east of downtown Cleveland and it takes about 15 minutes.

Aeroporto mais próximo

Cleveland Hopkins Airport is 25 minutes away. There is a red line train that goes straight there and the station is a mile away from our house. You can ride share (uber/lyft) straight from the airport or ride share just to and from the train (RTA) station.

Lexie

Oi!
