General Overview

The neighborhood is quiet and yet the historic center is only a kilometer away, the same goes for the train station. Dordrecht is an island (with plenty of tunnels and bridges), a city with 120,000 inhabitants. Close to Rotterdam (accessible by boat, train, car or bicycle). It is also close to Kinderdijk (World Heritage Site). Easy for a day trip to Breda, the beach or even Amsterdam or Antwerp: plenty to discover in the area. The Biesbosch National Park is known for birds, islands and activities. Go by bike, on foot, by boat or canoe.

The Space

Garden in front and behind the house. Open kitchen and spacious living room. Balcony at the rear. Three bedrooms upstairs. The master bedroom has a double bed (1.60x2.00m). The guest room has a double bed (1.40x2.00m.). Baby room with cot and changing table. In the bathroom there is a shower and toilet on the upper floor and another toilet on the ground floor. Free parking and I have two bikes you can borrow!

There is a supermarket near the house. The station, shops and the weekly market (Friday and Saturday) are located in the center. There are two cinemas. Plenty of restaurants, cafes and bars in the city centre. Dordrecht has many parks and it is fun to go over the dikes.

Getting to my home

Dordrecht station is only fifteen minutes by train from Rotterdam. Rotterdam would be the nearest airport, but Amsterdam or Eindhoven are also easy to reach. My house is easy to reach by car/free parking.

We kept in touch with Anna before and during her visit to beautiful Twente. First alone and then together with her mother. So we didn't meet each other but we know she had a good time, saw nice pictures and from our help we heard later that she left it very tidy. In the fall we will visit her house.

We had a lovely stay in Dordrecht at Anna's home. The house is in a calm, quiet neighborhood with two spacious double bedrooms and a sociable, open plan, kitchen and living area. It is conveniently located for the train station and the town centre is easily accessible by bike or on foot. We also enjoyed looking after Mini the cat!

Anna’s home is light and airy. The neighborhood is green and ideally located, less than a 10 minute bike ride from Dordrecht city center. There is a sunny front garden to sit outside and free on street parking. Anna doesn’t have a TV, but we didn’t miss it as we were were gone all day and out for dinner in the evenings. The house was clean and Anna left us a nice bottle of wine and chocolate as a welcome gift. There are 3 large folders with plenty of information to make a perfect itinerary for Dordrecht and the rest of the Netherlands. Communication with Anna was easy, she was very accommodating and helpful and contacted us during our stay to make sure we were enjoying ourselves. We look forward to hosting her in Zegveld.

We had a lovely weekend exchange with Anna! Her house is situated in a quiet and typical Dutch street. It is very convenient: close to the railwaystation, close to green areas, a very nice supermarket on walking distance and an easy walk to the city center. The house was clean and welcoming. We fully enjoyed the Efteling (a must when you visit Anna with children!) and Vila Augustus (great suggestion from Anna!) and had a nice dinner with Anna on Friday evening to get to know each other.
