Neighbourhood

Our house is in a residential area and within walking and biking distance of the village centre Beuningen (700 mtr). Lots of shops, a library and some lunch rooms. The city of Nijmegen is near (7 km). 

The natural surroundings of Beuningen are the river Waal (2,3 km) with its flood plains and meandering dikes. This area is ideal for beautiful bike rides.

The historic city of Nijmegen with lots of cultures, theatres and museums is 10 minutes away by car. 

The International Four Day Marches Nijmegen from 2022 we are at home. We could provide a sleeping place for 2 though. This is the largest multiple days marching / walking event in the world and it is organized every year. Normally the march will go through Beuningen. 40.000 walkers pass our house just one block further. A perfect opportunity to cheer on walkers from your own country, as well as the walkers from all over the world. Beuningen will be humming and buzzing that day. Nijmegen will be full of music, a fair and outdoor eating stands during this whole week.

Nearby are the motorways A50 and A73. Sightseeing in Arnhem, Den Bosch, exploring 'Hoge Veluwe' or the hilly forest behind the push-moraine in 'Rijk van Nijmegen', visiting the famous fantasy-themed amusement park 'Efteling'. All perfect day trips. 

Airport Düsseldorf Weeze NRN and airport Eindhoven EIN are a 60 km (40 min) drive. And although we are near the German border, Amsterdam is only a 1,5-hour drive.

Close by or within an hour’s drive there is so much on offer. We will be happy to give you tips. We'll provide you with all kinds of brochures and a google map to help you find your way around.
