General overview

A brand new "Wolf Pup" 21 ft travel trailer/caravan with a 2019 Dodge Ram 1500 (gas/petrol) tow vehicle. This combination is intended only for simultaneous exchanges with people who are offering something similar (like for like). We are very familiar with driving and towing overheight vehicles and are interested only in exchanges with those with similar experience. The combined vehicle length is 43 ft and weight around 5 tonnes. No special license is required to drive this combination in North America, just experience

The space

There is approximately 100 sq ft of living area, with a queen size bed and a two seat dinette. The double bunks have been converted to storage for excess baggage and our two e-bikes. There is a built in air conditioner (only works when shore power is available) and a propane fired furnace. A propane fired on demand heater provides hot water when required. The large refrigerator is 12 volt powered and two solar systems keep the house batteries charged when camping off grid, There is a shower and built in toilet, both of which can run off the 30 gallon water tank. Careful use of water allows about 5 days of off grid camping. A two burner stove and a large sink make up the kitchen. The outside space can be made usable by extending the large motorised awning. Camping requires knowledge of hooking up trailers with electric brakes and load equalisation package, the knowledge of how to level campers, manual operating of the stabilising and tongue jacks and the processes for filling and emptying fresh and waste tanks.

Guest access

Access is via the very broad and stable camper staircase and main door. Emergency egress is available from the bed window and the bunkhouse storage area.

Notes

We will equip the unit with bedding, towels, dishes and pots and pans etc. Negotiable items are things like generators, solar panels, inflatable kayaks and additional tents for outdoor living. Local insurance will have to be arranged for both the vehicle and camper. We can assist with that. There are no additional drivers license requirements to drive the unit. Contact us and we can discuss all the details to make your adventure achievable.

Neighbourhood

Wherever you park it! Staying on Vancouver Island is reasonably cheap. Ferry costs to the mainland run at about $200 each way. It is a heavy vehicle, expect to fill the tank with gasoline/petrol every 700 km or so.

Getting around

Finding parking for 43 ft long vehicles while shopping etc is not easy in most Canadian cities. You can normally take up a few spots at Walmart without too much problem but our recommendation is always to unhook the camper at a campsite and only take the RAM into town.. The ebikes are also a decent alternative for getting around.
