General overview
In a city full of high rises we are fortunate to live in a townhouse with a nice terrace for barbecue, at the same time being able to walk and use public transportation everywhere!
The space
Our home is a 2 family townhouse and we own the second and third floors, the first floor belongs the another family. Each floor is around 100sq meters.
On the second floor we have our living room, kitchen, 3 bedrooms. One master bedroom with en-suite bathroom and the kids rooms with a shared social bathroom. Each of the kids room has a single bed, one of them with a pull out bed.
The third floor has another living room and a large terrace with barbecue, shower, table and chair and laundry.
Since the pandemic we have been working partially from home, so eventually we might close this upstairs living room to keep our mess in 😬😬.
We have 2 cats that stay indoors and need care, but we can always arrange for our neighbor to come if our guests travel for a few days.
Guest access
The home is accessed by stairs, so not suitable for people with disabilities.
We also have an open terrace with a 1.20m guardrail, so people with young children need to be careful.

Neighbourhood
Botafogo is a middle class neighborhood in the south area of Rio. It’s well served by subway, buses, and there are plenty of restaurants and shops nearby.
On saturdays there is a farmers market right on our street.
We don’t even own a car, everything is easily reacheable with public transportation.
The famous Copacabana beach is only one subway station from us.
We own 3 adult bikes and one kid bike.
Getting to my home
There is a subway station 4 blocks from home.
From the airport you will need to take a cab.
