General Overview
We have a comfortable two-bedroom, two-bath home in a quiet old-Florida neighborhood. We are two miles from an historic, vibrant college town (DeLand, Florida) with tons of local shops, music, restaurants, and festivals.
We also are an easy drive to all Florida has to offer - Downtown Orlando, Disney/Universal and all the theme parks, NASA/Cape Canaveral, tons of wetlands/birding/marshes, lots of kayaking and natural springs, Ocala National Forest, Daytona Beach and all the beach towns, St. Augustine, 2.5 hours to Tampa -- lots of options for day trips, and you can come home to relax in comfy beds, hang out on the patio, grill up some burgers, make your own pizza in the pizza oven, or just hang out in DeLand.
The Space
If we are here when you are here, we have two separate wings. You will have your own bedroom with queen bed, bathroom with full bath/shower, full kitchen, living and dining room, own entrance. We will be on the other side of the house with locked door between. Shared driveway and outdoors. You will have access to the garden and grill. If we are gone, you will have the full house - two bedrooms (one king/one queen), living/dining room, bonus office/second living room, two bathrooms. Could put a blow-up mattress to fit two more in one of the living rooms if desired.
Guest Access
All one floor but not really set up for handicapped accessible, there are some one-step levels throughout.
Notes
We currently have one hard-shell kayak you can use. If we don't take them with us on our trip, we have a couple of bikes you can use also. Open to lending our SUV that seats 8, to be mutually discussed.

Depending on travel and work schedule, happy to at least provide ideas for various types of activities; if I am around I am happy to meet for coffee or a meal, take you on a local hike, show you our local town, etc.

Emily
Hello fellow travelers and exchangers - we are Emily and Jorge, based in Central Florida just north of Orlando. We have both traveled extensively in the US and numerous other countries, and lived in lots of locations as well. We love road trips, particularly up and down the East Coast. In the US our key spots for exchanges would probably be Maine, Vermont, New Hampshire, the Berkshires, NYC, Virginia, West Virginia. Internationally pretty much anywhere in the Caribbean, Central and South America, Iceland, Portugal, the Balkans, lots of other places. Jorge is an exceptional chef, photographer, and coffee nerd. We both love music, nature, cities and immersive cultural experiences.
People Like Us is the world's most trusted home exchange community. We believe in sharing, trust, generosity, respect, communication, equality, cooperation, honesty, hospitality, friendship, flexibility and adventure. We take pride in our homes and we care about the environment in which we live: our village, city, country and our planet. We care about the ethos of home exchange and we do it because we love the experience and the friendships that it generates.
