General Overview

Our large house is located slightly on the outskirts of Rimouski, in the quiet neighborhood of Pointe-au-Père. Rimouski offers many interesting tourist activities locally, including museums, festivals, restaurants, concert halls. The outdoors is without a doubt one of its main assets with hikes in the Bic National Park (30 km) or Neigette Falls, Wednesday regattas at the Marina, skiing at Mont-Comi or Mont-St-Mathieu, biking on its bucolic country roads, kayaking at Île St-Barnabé and the Îles du Bic and much more!

The Space

Plenty of space for everyone! In total, there is a possibility of 9 places to sleep in 1 Queen bed, 1 king sofa bed, 2 double beds, 1 single bed and 1 futon single bed. Magnificent kitchen and dining room completely redone in country style, 1 shower and a hot tub. Large yard, lots of newly planted trees, perennial and wild flowers, vegetable garden, children's cabins and large 14' gazebo equipped with mosquito nets. We have 2 cats who spend their day outside and a robot vacuum cleaner that cleans regularly on the ground floor, so not too much hair everywhere.

Guest Access

All access to the house is via a staircase, except for the garage. There is however a staircase to climb from the garage to get to the ground floor.

Notes

A bike path along the coastline runs from the village of Le Bic in the west (35 km) to Sainte-Luce-sur-Mer in the east (12 km) via downtown Rimouski in the west (10 km). Otherwise, for more experienced cyclists, the surrounding area is filled with beautiful bucolic country roads for all tastes, with or without hills, with or without asphalt.

Neighbourhood

Neighborhood grocery store and hardware store (1.5 km), municipal library (1 km), church (1 km), Empress of Ireland museum, lighthouse and submarine to visit (2 km), St-Laurent distillery to buy or have a drink (2 km), marked cross-country skiing, snowshoeing or walking trails, tobogganing hill, skating rink or basketball court. 18-hole golf course 500m away.

Getting to my home

The best way to get to or from the Bas-Saint-Laurent region is by car. From Montreal or Quebec City, there are also intercity buses (Keolis) that make the trip 2 times a day and drop you off near the shopping center 8 km from our house. From there, you have to take either public transport (taxibus) or taxi. The train is unfortunately no longer an option to recommend since it makes the journey (8-9 hours) once a week at night. There are some flights that go to Mont-Joli. There is a car rental center in the commercial district 4 km from the bus station and downtown or at the Mont-Joli airport.

Getting Around

We travel to Rimouski and the surrounding area *by bike: some bike paths to get to the city center and simple once there. *by public transport (Citébus downtown and taxibus from the outskirts) *All aboard We leave Rimouski for the outdoors with the car
