General overview
4 bedroom 2.5 bath home with a 2 car garage in a great location in town. Brand new house with a fenced yard, hot tub, and home theater. We welcome alumni, parents, and future Bobcats visting the area. If you aren't affiliated with the university, visiting Athens is a great way to experience a college town with its hippie flair, and visit many beautiful state parks such as the famous rock formations of the Hocking Hills. Athens has several breweries and wineries to enjoy. We are a scenic 2.5 hour drive from the New River Gorge and world class white water rafting. We are almost equidistant between Washington and Chicago, so this is a great place to say if you'd like to plan two trips and drive to both.
The space
This new home offers a huge front porch overlooking a historic, tree lined brick street. The floor plan on the main level is open with large, bright windows. There is a half bath on the main floor. The living area has a gas fireplace. The shaded back yard is fenced with a patio and new hot tub. There is a two car garage, and we could discuss including a car with the exchange. Downstairs, there is a home theater room and an office/extra bedroom with 2 cots available. Upstairs, there is a piano and library area on the landing, 3 bedrooms (two queen beds and a twin), a full bath, an owner's suite with attached bathroom, and an upstairs washer and dryer. We have high speed internet and a home office for anyone looking to work from home. This home is professionally cleaned every two weeks.

There are three levels in this home. There is a garage with a keypad and door opener. You will have access to the entire home.
Notes
We are a family of 3; two teachers and an 9 year old boy. We are open to simultaneous and non simultaneous exchanges between June 1 and Aug 12th each summer when we are out of school. We are very open to locations in the US and internationally. We would consider shorter exchanges in the US over holidays and in early March.
We do have a cat and a dog (not a barker) who would preferably stay in the home with you while we are away. Both are super sweet, sleep a lot, and easy to deal with.

Neighbourhood
Elmwood Place is a tree-lined brick street with beautiful historic homes. It is within walking distance of restaurants, shopping, festivals and events, university speakers and traveling theater performances, the city pool with water slides and a splash pad, the library and a 20 mile bike path along the river. There are two bakeries, an organic grocery store, and a bus stop a block away. It is a quiet street close to everything and a playground is 2 blocks away.
Getting to my home
We are approximately 1 hour from the Columbus International Airport. There is a bus service from the airport that will take you a mile from our house. Other transportation could be arranged depending on the situation. One of our could be available for your stay, if needed.

CMH is one hour away.
Getting around
You can walk to shopping, restaurants, groceries, and recreation. There is a city bus stop a block away. We have Lyft and Uber in town. 2 adult bikes and one children's bike will be available for your use. Use of our car during an exchange is a possibility.
