General overview
Please note that we only exchange with properties of similar size. Minimum stay 1 week or 2.
Our charming manor house (450 m²) is 400 years old and a listed property with amazing old features. We have a big guest house in the converted barn (400 m2) across the courtyard to use for home exchange as well. Our listed estate is situated on 12.3 acres of land with a very small river. Our valley is in the middle of a tiny village in the Deep Condroz, the most beautiful region in Belgium in the Province of Namur.
The whole property has undergone a complete eco-renovation to a very high standard (100 % natural materials with clay and reed for insulation of the inner walls, natural paint, solar panels). New kitchen with Boretti stove, granite countertops, dining room with fireplace and upright piano, living room with 2 fireplaces, QLED TV, library and a restored grand piano from 1831,
2nd floor master-bedroom with dressing and bathroom, 1 kid's bedroom, a guestroom with bathroom, office,
3rd floor 3 huge teenager rooms, 1 big bathroom with bath and shower, a play area for children with books, toys, television/DVD and Kinect.
There is plenty of space inside and outside and a heated saltwater pool outside. We have 4 dogs (Australian shepherd, Belgian Malinois and 2 husky mix) and 1 cat who prefers to live in the barn across the courtyard.
A car and bikes could be at your disposal.
We have an in-ground trampoline and a ping pong table.
Our village is 30 min from beautiful Namur and its citadel, old town and boat tours, 50 min from Brussels, the heart of Europe, 15 min from Dinant (Adolphe Sax - inventer of the Saxophone, museum and many festivals) and 2 hours from the Belgian coast. There are a lot of castles, the most beautiful villages in Wallonia Crupet and Falaën, fruit and vegetable markets, festivals, old farms, scenic landscape, hiking, Modave Castle, Durby and Dinant Adventures, Caves of Han (Grottes de Han.be), Durbuy (the smallest and quaintest town in the world), kayaking on the Lesse river, Domaine de Chevetogne nature&water fun (the biggest Nature playground in Belgium), and Maastricht (Netherlands), Cologne (Germany) 1 to 2 hours drive not far away.
We have 5 very nice horses.

Getting around
Supermarkets are to be found in Ohey which is the same entity. There is an organic supermarket in Maffe with a great choice. Very good ice cream place as well from a local producer.
We had a wonderful family Christmas at Michele’s house. Plenty of spaces to enjoy for the 10 of us, super comfy beds in a well presented family home. Great supermarkets within a few mins drive are well stocked with local delights. We had the best time and couldn’t recommend it enough.
Michele and family will be guests in our home in Sydney in Dec 2024-Jan 2025. We look forward to having them stay.
We had a wonderful time at Wendy's home and saw plenty of manatees and dolphins in her backyard. We cannot wait to exchange with her again!
