Judy and Murray’s light filled home sits in a quiet area of Bateau Bay, within walking distance of the beach and a great coffee shop. It is a beautiful, comfortable home with everything to make your stay comfortable. Cooking in their kitchen was a dream; a super comfortable bed and relaxing arm chairs meant we were super happy .
Unfortunately for us we never got to stay due to my parents falling ill just beforehand. What I can say is that all communication was great and there was so much kindness. We will definitely be in contact if we pass through the area and hope for an exchange another time.
Our daughter and her family had a lovely stay at Bateau Bay. Jude was very easy to communicate with. Thanks very much for a great exchange.
We enjoyed a brief but wonderful hospitality exchange with Judy and Murray in Bateau Bay, midcoast, New South Wales Australia. When Jude found that we had a little gap in our schedule between the end of our Sydney exchange and our flight to Broome, she invited us to stay with them a couple of nights in their guest cottage. We all hope that we can see one another again and reciprocate hospitality in Victoria, British Columbia, Canada. Jude led us on a gorgeous coastal walk and explained the flora to us, including rare flannel flowers. It was interesting to learn about their activism to maintain shoreline access. Plenty of laughter and lively discussions over meals. What a wonderful home and location. The annex has all you need. Jude and Murray provided great local advice which helped us make the most of our short stay, including viewpoints, beaches, where to dine and even driving routes.
On this websites Facebook page, I described Judy and Murray as PLU angels.
Reason being, I approached Judy and Murray whilst they were temporary members to see if they were interested in house swapping with me as I needed a place to stay in their area so as to assist a close friend who needs help and support occasionally.
When Judy and Murray heard my reasons they responded and offered their home to me as a place to stay when I wanted. They joined up as PLU members even though they didn’t require a swap as they have family near where I live nor, did they didn’t want anything in return for their kind offer.
Along with my partner, we met for coffee and it felt like meeting up with old friends; such lovely warm, open and giving people. From our conversations I admired them even more as it became obvious they volunteer their services in all sorts of ways to help the community and people in general.
Now they’ve gone away for 5 weeks and I feel honored and blessed that they have trusted me with their home whilst they are travelling and that I can come and go with my partner as I wish.
Their home is beautiful, clean, quiet, comfortable and every bit as nice, if not more as shown in the listing and if you like nature and beautiful clean beaches, the location is just amazing.
I’ve only stayed a few nights so far and am looking forward to staying more as staying there has been wonderful and has helped me out immensely – that’s why I called them ‘PLU angels’
Jude and Murray were wonderful guests! We have had some great conversations and continue to do so. We had no issues at all and our house and car were well taken care of. We would highly recommend this wonderful couple and we look forward to visiting Bateau Bay in the future!
We hosted this lovely couple, Judy and Murray for three nights hospitality, following their hosting of us last year in Australia. They went out of their way while elsewhere in North America to come to visit us, and we were so pleased to see them again. They were upbeat and appreciative. We spent a combination of social and active time together, and they also explored independently, easily working around our schedules. The visit was full of great conversation and lots of laughter and hugs. We recommend them as guests and hosts and to see them yet again
What can I say?! You could not wish for a better host than Judy . Her communication was always good but it was her thoughtfulness , and her understanding that really shone. No wonder she has been recognised by her community as an outstanding contributor .we were fortunate to meet Judy and Murray when they arrived in Melbourne and we were instantly at home with them . I’m sure we will all be seeing much more of each other !

Stayed at our place over Christmas and enjoyed our apartment. They communicated with us frequently and will return in the New Year for another stay. We will also visit their home then. We won't return to our apartment until late January but we know everything will be fine there after their stays. They have been a pleasure to talk to.
We have everything ready for your stay up here and are looking forward to returning to your tranquil, city hideaway next week.

We have just returned from a magical stay at Kirsten and Laura's wonderful home.
Their home is absolutely beautiful, with anything you need plus a gym and terrific pool area. The Beach Club is only a few minutes away with lounges, lots of shade and great snorkelling. Snorkelling gear is cheap to hire right next door at Snorkel Bob's.
After picking up their car at the local airport - (simple process organised by Kirsten) - we were welcomed at their gorgeous home by a generous welcome gift. Anything you needed to know was in their home manual - which is completely next level!
We attended local events, travelled to the volcanoes, shared meals with friends on the island, watched beautiful sunsets, shopped at local markets and read about Hawaii's fascinating cultural history. Just the best week.
Shopping is a breeze with Foodland Supermarket right next door and for a big shop there is huge supermarket at the neighbouring village up the hill. Don't worry if you forget anything because we got lost looking for this supermarket and found an enormous, well stocked Goodwill Store. Pity our suitcases were already full.
If you are looking for a stay in paradise then look no further than Kirsten and Laura's magnificent home. You will not be disappointed. Highly recommended.

Five star stay! Anyone that has not been to Victoria, Vancouver Island, add it to your bucket list. The world famous Butchart gardens, historical buildings, great walking tours, little ferry boats to take you to Fisherman's Wharf, China Town, amazing food, markets, shopping, beach walks, hiking, snorkling, beautiful harbour and fabulous parks. It has it all.
We really lucked out exchanging to Robin and Colin's gorgeous place in Victoria, right near the beach and only a street from Beakon Hill Park. Lots of parking but often Robin or Colin would drop us downtown and we could walk home from there through the park. Completely separate accomodation with the warmest and most welcoming hosts you could ask for. Nothing was a bother.
We even forgot a few things when we regretfully went to the ferry on the last day, and Robin made the dash down to the terminal to deliver them.
A memorable home exchange that we highly recommend. Many stories, much laughter and lots of great conversation to add to our home exchange adventures. Thank you Robin and Colin. We loved it.
We have just completed a fantastic, simultaneus exchange with Irene and Paul. Great people, wonderful apartment and everything went so smoothly. Nothing is a bother to Irene. We were right in the centre of Melbourne, with the tram going past out the front.
There us everything you need in Irene's kitchen and our beds were lovely and comfy. Loved their new bathrooms.
Terrific restaurants right across the road.
We simply cannot recommend highly enough that you think about an exchange to this fabulous location with such welcoming hosts.
Irene and Paul left our home in perfect order. We knew instantly when we met them that we did not have to think about Bateau Bay - just love Melbourne as our new "city home" for 11 days.
Unfortunately both sarah's Mum and Dad were ill and the exchange had to be postponed. They were wonderful, keeping us informed at all times. We were more than happy to return the globe as we had not used it and we hope that Sarah can take her parents on a trip once he is recovered.
We have just returned to Bateau Bay from exchanging in Woollhara and our house is in perfect order. Frances kept in touch and the entire experience was seamless from beginning to end.
It is wonderful to know that your house has been loved while you are away. Another example of Home Exchange done well. Thank you Francis and your lovely family.
Judy and Murray
We have just spent the most wonderful Christmas, right near our family in Frances and Gary's gorgeous home in Woolhara. Perfect location, quiet, spacious and serene. We had everything we needed.
Lovely neighbourhood close to everything. Public transport and shops nearby if you need to explore Sydney.
Great communication from Frances made this exchange so simple.
We stopped home exchange for several years and were uncertain if we really wanted to start again but this wonderful exchange certainly made us realise that we missed all the joy home exchanging provides.
Thank you Frances and Gary for your generosity and for making us feel so welcome.
We look forward to providing exactly the same for you and your family in our home soon.
Judy and Murray
Robin and Colin were fabulous exchangers. We wish they could have stayed longer. Great conversation, up for anything, caring and thoughtful. It was like having family coming to stay in our studio.
We "met" on PLU as Robin and Colin were coming to Australia and posted a request for information on Broome WA. We had recently returned from Broome, and so the conversation began.
Anyone would be lucky to have this delightful couple stay in their home.
Judy and Murray
Kathryn is a an absolute delight. We are so happy to have met her and know that our home is in such good hands.
We are loving her photo updates of her activities in Bateau Bay and thoughtful little personal details such as photos of our packages that have arrived in the mail.
Highly recommend this lovely lady to any future exchanger - you will be lucky to have her in your home.
She has such an enthusiasm for life - (especially kayaking) that it is contagious.
I can't thank you both enough for trusting me with your beautiful home while you were away for 5 weeks. We loved staying there and I'm so pleased that you were happy with things on your return; also that we have continued with communication as you are truly, very special people. Thank you also for your kind words above.
