General Overview

Lovely apartment in Cannaregio (Fondamenta Della Sensa), a real Venetian neighborhood: only a few tourists, good local restaurants and nice wine bars. It's our second home, so we're very flexible.

The Space

A lovely living/dining room with views of the canal (the canal in the first photo) and lots of light. Two small bedrooms (a romantic double bedroom with a 140 cm bed and one with a large comfortable sofa bed for two, both bedrooms overlook a very quiet and cool garden at the back). A small kitchen (basic) and a bathroom with bathtub. Lovingly decorated, full of posters from previous art exhibitions we have seen in Venice.

Guest Access

First floor with steps.

Neighbourhood

Cannaregio is one of the last authentic neighborhoods in Venice! Here you won't find ugly takeaway pizzas or souvenir shops, but local restaurants (Venetian food is my favorite), local bars where you can taste the famous cicchetti (Venetian tapas) and drink a Spritz on the canal. You will also find nice open-air markets to buy local products (fish and seafood of course but also local vegetables from the islands of the lagoon, such as the famous artichokes).

Getting Around

You are quite close to the train station (15 min. walk) and you have a Vaporetto (boat) stop nearby. But of course, the best way to visit Venice is on foot!

People Like Us Local Guide

I don't live in Venice (it's my second home) so I might be elsewhere when you visit, but I am happy to share my Venice adresses: restaurants, bar, places to go that are outside the tourist traps.
