General overview

Charming apartment in Cannaregio (Fondamenta Della Sensa) a real Venetian neighborhood: only a few touristes, good local restaurants and cool wine bars. This is our second home, so we are very flexible.

The space

A lovely living-room/dining-room with a view on the canal (the canal on the first photo) and a lot of light. Two small bedrooms (one romantic double room with a 140cm bed and one with a confortable and large sofa-bed for two, both rooms are on a very quiet and fresh garden in the back) plus a 120 cm sofabed in the leaving-room (can sleep one adult or 2 kids). A small kitchen (basic) and a bathroom with a bathtub. Can accommodate up to 5-6 guests, but 4 is the ideal number. Decorated with love, full of posters of previous art exhibitions that we saw in Venice.

Guest access

First floor with steps.

Neighbourhood

Cannaregio is one of the last authentic neighborhood in Venice! Here you won't find nasty pizzas take-away or souvenir shops, but local restaurants (the Venice cuisine is my favorite), local bars where you can try the famous cicchetti (the Venetian tapas) and drink a Spritz on the canal (at 2,50 euros!). You will also find nice open air markets to buy local products (fish and sea food of course but also the local vegetables coming from the islands in the laguna, like the famous artichokes).

Getting around

You are close enough to the train station (15 min. walk) and you have a Vaporetto (boat) stop near by. But of course the best way to visit Venice is to walk!

People Like Us Local Guide

I don't live in Venice (it's my second home) so I might be elsewhere when you visit, but I am happy to share my Venice adresses: restaurants, bar, places to go that are outside the tourist traps.
