**New Metro station in June 2024 - Only 200 mtrs from our home**
We are a danish couple who have made many succesful exchanges. We have met a lot of wonderful people, and think a personal meeting adds a little extra to the trip.
Exchange does not have to be simultaneous, because we can always stay in our countryhouse, while you visit wonderful Copenhagen.
We love our spot on location of our apartment from 2009. Modern and light. Furnished in Danish style with 2 bedrooms. Perfect for 3-4 people.
Buildings inspired by Amsterdam with several small islands surrounded by small canals.Located close to the city center, with its many activities and cultural offers.
We have two private balconies - You can have your breakfast at the east balcony, and enjoy the afternoon sun, and sunset at the one facing southwest..

Getting Around
Only a short trip with public transport to city, and definately no need for a car. 100 meter to frequent public transport. Either by normal bus, or the waterbus, which will take you directly to the city center.
We had a wonderful sunny week in Copenhagen with interesting museum visits (I loved the Ny Carlsberg Glyptotek) and delicious food. Bjarne and Maria's great apartment is clean, quiet and not far from the city center, which is easily accessible by metro or water bus. The view from the balcony is fantastic and the house is surrounded by water, so you can swim right outside the door. Communication was always great and they are easy-going, reliable and friendly guests.
Unfortunately, Bjarne and Maria had to cut their stay with us short for personal reasons, but we were still allowed to stay in the apartment for the whole week. A big thank you for your generosity and hospitality.
You are welcome to stay with us anytime.
We had another great stay at Bjarne and Maria’s apartment in Copenhagen!
Their home is modern, comfortable, and located in a beautiful part of the city with canals, swimming spots, and easy access to everything by bike or metro. We especially enjoyed cycling—around Amager, to the city center, and beyond.
Communication was smooth as always, and everything was just as welcoming as we remembered. A perfect exchange once again!
Thank you, Bjarne and Maria — we’d love to come back!
Bjørn and Ingrid
We loved Bjarne and Maria's home in Copenhagen. It is situated on a canal, with a beautiful view from the front balcony and a view of the shared courtyard on the rear balcony. There are beautiful wood windows and doors in the flat, and a wood floor. We miss that as our beach house is all tile, the woodwork gives the home a very warm and comfortable feeling. The flat is around 5 metro stops south of the center of town, and the metro access is less than 5 minutes away. You can also take a bus right from the main street which is just a minute away. It takes about 10 to 15 minutes to get to the center of town, depending on wait time for a train. There is a nice deli close by, a cafe, a Thai restaurant (very good food) and a grocer also just minutes away. The kitchen was fully equipped with all we needed, and they have a washer and dryer that we made use of as well. Overall, a perfect home in a very safe and beautiful neighborhood. This was a very good exchange for us.
We had a wonderful stay at Bjarne and Maria’s home in Copenhagen!
The house was immaculate, well-equipped, and perfectly located in this modern part of Copenhagen.
The thoughtful touches and danish atmosphere made us feel right at home.
We had fun trying to speak danish to the voice- controlled lighting system.
( Also adjustable by a switch on the wall)
Sluseholmen's unique canals and architecture provided a feeling of being in Amsterdam. We loved the open water swimming area right outside of the building.
Copenhagen center itself was just a short trip away on bike or metro.
Communication with Bjarne and Maria was seamless, and they went above and beyond to ensure we had everything we needed. We couldn't have asked for a better exchange experience and would highly recommend their home to anyone.
Thank you for an unforgettable stay!
We would love to come back!
Bjørn and Ingrid
Bjarne and Marias appartment is bright and spacious. It is located in a very interesting area of Copenhagen. It is a new part of the city directly at the harbour with narrow canals and appartment buildings that give a dutch feeling to the neighbourhood.
There is very easy access to the city centre either by bus or the harbour-bus.
Within 50 minutes on foot through the green area of Amager Fælled and the trendy Islands Brygge you can also reach the city centre.
There are plenty of cafes and grocery stores right around the corner.
The view from the appartment is magnificent and the area is without noise from traffic.
It is the perfect starting point for your Copenhagen adventure.
Communication with Bjarne and Maria was swift and efficient and they are very welcoming.
We can highly recommend exchanging with them.
Dorte and Peter.
Unfortunately, Bjarne and Maria only had a short time to stay in our home, but of course they left it spotless and were wonderful guests. We hope to meet them again at a PLU meeting in the future.
We had very good communication with Bjarne and Maria, starting with an exchange of the "users manuals" for each of our homes, which helped prepare us for our visit. They had left the keys at a very convenient spot for us to collect them and we had no trouble getting into the flat. There were no issues that required their assistance, but we each exchanged messages during the exchange just to keep in touch. Their home was very clean and well prepared for us, and our home was well cleaned and cared for, particulalry our plants which need some care during the hot summer. We can highly recommend Bjarne and Maria as exchange partners.
Bjarne and Maria were perfect guests in our cabin in august 24.
The communication was easy, and they left the cabin in perfect order.
We can recommend exhangeing with Bjarne and Maria !
Bjarne and Maria were excellent guests in our home. We had health issues which necessitated turning our simultaneous exchange into non-simultaneous and that was easily worked out betweenus. We are looking forward to staying in their home in Copenhagen in the future.
Loved these new friends. Bjarne and Maria exemplify what’s great about PLU, giving more than they receive and showing their appreciation for every kindness offered. Perfect guests! We don’t know when we’ll make it to Denmark, but seeing them and enjoying their part of the world is something to look forward to.
Bjarne and Maria were the perfect guests.
Our home was left spotless as if noone had ever been there.
We had great communication before, during and after the exchange.
Thank you for a thoroughly nice exchange experience. The dialogue with Jana has been perfect throughout the process and also the stay in their very nice apartment in Vechelde. For personal reasons with us, we unfortunately had to return to Denmark after a few days. Afterwards, Jana was so accomodating to give us the opportunity for a new stay in October. Unfortunately this was not poosible due to our other plans. The location of Vechelde is ideal in terms of exploring the exciting cities and sights in the area. Easiest if you are by car but since the apartment is only a 2 minute walk from the train station, it is easy to get around. We took the train to Braunschweig among other places. A short trip of 10 minutes. Thank you again for this exchange opportunity, and also for the the exciting delicacies that were available to us when we arrived. Excellent recommendations from here. Do not hesitate to make a exchange with Jana and Matthias if you get the possibility.
I will only make this short.: We could not seen there had been anyone in our apartment in Copenhagen
Left in superclean condition.
This is the 2nd time Inge and Bjørn have visited our home in Copenhagen. There has been no problems at all, and they left the apartment clean and tidy.
Really nice people and great homeexchangers. We are now looking forward to visit their cozy cabin in Norway, June 2026.
A thoroughly nice stay in Larry and Ellen's lovely apartment in Luz. The town of Luz is a lovely seaside resort with a very relaxed atmosphere. It only takes a few minutes to walk down to the beautiful sandy beach. Shopping and dining are also within walking distance. The apartment has everything you could want. Even though the weather was warm during our week, there was no need to use aircon, as the apartment is nice and cool. We slept with the window open, as it was nice and quiet in the city. There are also fly screens on all windows and doors. Thedialogue with Larry, before, during and after the visit has been perfect. Thank you for this nice exchange opportunity
Larry and Ellen are great guests to have around. They left our apartment in great condition and even left us a little gift from Portugal. We can only recommend a swap with Larry and Ellen if you get the chance.
Thanks to Ingrid and Bjørn for the nice stay we had in their lovely cabin in Flå, Norway. The cabin is located in the mountains in the beautiful nature, which offers the opportunity for fresh air, hiking and total relaxation. The many windows in the cabin provide a wonderful view of the surrounding mountains. The cabin also has all the comforts you could wish for.
If the opportunity is available we would very much like to repeat the visit sometime in the future
Thanks to Ingrid and Bjørn for their visit to our home in Copenhagen. After a week's stay, they left the apartment in exactly the same condition as it was when they arrived.
We will therefore give our warm recommendation to those who may wish to exchange homes with Ingrid and Bjørn.
A thoroughly lovely stay in Betty and Jay's fine home in Sarasota. The house has a very nice location and has all the necessities you could want. The house is also a short distance from both the ammenity center and the lovely pool area.
We used both the pool and gym, and enjoyed the short distance to the lovely beaches in Sarasota.
Communication with Betty was quick and helpful. Also when we needed a dental visit. Here, Betty quickly made an appointment for us, with their own dentist.
We can therefore only recommend a stay in Sarasota with Betty and Jay if the opportunity is available.
We now look forward to returning the visit when Betty and Jay hopefully visit Copenhagen sometime in 2025
An absolutely perfect exchange. From start to finish the dialogue has been excellent, and we were lucky to meet Jim and Vicki several times during our stay. They had prepared various events we could attend, and we are now really looking forward to pay pack their great hospitality, when they come to our home in Copenhagen.
Their house is wonderful. Located on a hillside just above the river Naches, and overlooking the opposite hillside. We enjoyed sitting on the porch listnining to the sounds of the river.
The house has all the comfort you could wish for, and we had a great week in Naches.
Yakima is an agricultural area, and if you want fresh fruit, wineries and a lot of trails - this is a destination for you.
Thanks again for this exchange possibility.
We made new friends after a great visit with Bjarne and Maria. We really accepted this exchange because they are PLU even though we had no current plants to go to Europe. After spending time with this exceptional couple, Denmark is on our list again. They exemplify the exchangers Drew has sought for his program.
Dorte and Peters home is a great choice if you want to visit Vejle.
Do not hesitate to make an exchange if you have the possibility.
The home is in a great location. Right at the harbourfront. And in walking distance to the city center of Vejle.Since the apartment is located on the 5th floor, you have amazing views of the harbour, town and even the forest. The apartment is tasteful decorated "Scandinavian style", with a lot of great art, and the home is immaculately clean. We tried a couple of restaurants recommended by Dorte, and was not disapointed. Also a must see, is the "Fjordenhus" An iconic building just 100 meters from the front door.
Book a guided tour for the best experience.
The communication with Dorte has been excellent, and we really enjoyed our days in Vejle.
All in all a perfect exchange. Returning to our home, we could not see that there had been any visitors. It looked excactly the same as when we left for our exchange in Vejle.Hopefully we can agree a new exchange sometime in the future..
