General Overview

Vibrant, homey one bedroom shotgun-style home in the Bywater/Marigny Neighborhood in New Orleans in the middle of music, restaurants and cafes. It is walking distance to the French Quarter and Crescent City Park. A friendly and welcoming neighbourhood.

The Space

One bed shotgun apartment with a large backyard. The house is a double shotgun with a large living room, office space (with beanbag mattress available for 3rd person), large double bedroom, fully stocked kitchen, washer and dryer in house. The house is an older home so it is a bit quirky; and definitely feels lived in but we hope you will enjoy it like we do! Backyard has raised bed, you are welcome to have any of the veggies or herbs that we are growing and also outdoor patio furniture where you can enjoy breakfast.

We share our backyard with our very friendly next door neighbors so if you are lucky you may get to experience their crawfish boils and summer bbqs!

Neighbourhood

Bywater neighborhood is a vibrant community in the city. There are numerous walking distance bars, cafes, and restaurants. Close to the park and numerous weekly pop up markets, music performances nearby also. Walking distance to the French Quarter. Walking distance from our house is Crescent City Park, live music venues such as Tigermen's Den, cultural spaces such as Jam NOLA, Music Box Village and Studio Be as well as numerous bars and restaurants. There are lots of things to do in New Orleans at all times of the year (this only a sampling) Jan-early March (dates change each year): Mardi Gras events are happening throughout this period, not only on Fat Tuesday April: French Quarter Fest, Jazz fest May: Wednesdays at the Square, BayouBoogaloo, New Orleans Greek Festival June: Zydeco festival, New Orleans Pride Parade, Restaurant Week July: Essence Fest, Running of the Bulls, Tales of the Cocktail August: Satchmo Summer Fest, White Linen Night September: Southern Decadence, Beignet Fest October: Halloween parades, Fried Chicken Fest November: Bayou Bachanal, Oak Street Po Boy Fest, December: Christmas eve bonfires on the levee, New Years Eve parties and events, Christmas lights at City Park, reveillion dinners
