Neighbourhood

Our neighborhood is very quiet (and not appropriate for parties or any night noise). There are two playgrounds and a cemetery with 2 ponds and walking paths. There are a few other playgrounds within walking distance. We're within walking distance of the MBTA train and downtown Salem. There is on street and driveway parking at our house. Everyone is super friendly and most people say hello. The neighbors on our block are wonderful. One house is a family with kids. The other houses are individuals or couples 50 years or older. The house next to us is an AirBNB house. Everyone looks out for each other here. KAYAKING: we have two kayaks. A single adult kayak and a single child kayak. I have a set of kayak wheels that can hold the two kayaks stacked. The tidal river a 10th of a miles from our house is an easy way to quickly get on the water. Note that it's a tidal river so it's best to get out there as high tide is approaching, otherwise you're paddling against the tide to come back. The child's kayak has a built in tow rope. I also have a secondary rope to attached the two kayaks, if needed. We sometimes travel with our kayaks. If you think you will want to use them, please inquire before your visit.

Nearest airport

Boston Logan Airport (13 to 23 miles depending on route). It is about 35 minutes without traffic. Choose the wrong time and it could be an hour or more (I would highly recommend using google maps with the depart at time to figure out how long it might take).

Getting Around

We are walking distance to the commuter rail train station. Downtown Salem is also within walking distance. Grocery stores are less then 10 minute drive in most directions. Multiple beaches are within 15 minutes. There are tons or parks, playgrounds, and other outdoor spaces within a short drive or walk.
