Neighbourhood
People come here all year round to feel the history of the city (which was not bombed during the wars), to visit the special brine baths, to hike or ride on the many hiking trails in the Lüneburg Heath, to play golf (Lüdersburg Golf Course), to shop, to explore the exciting city of Hamburg (which for many is the most beautiful city in Germany) or to one of the many leisure or nature parks nearby.
What else? Ask us, we are locals and chose this location because of the beauty of the city, the proximity to Hamburg and the many great things to do. We can also advise you on things to do and see in Hamburg (30 minutes by car or train) or Berlin (2.5 hours by car or train).
Berlin is definitely a must-see if you stay in Lüneburg.
You can drive to the Baltic Sea in 1.5 hours or go on many other great day trips.
You can also take the direct train to Lübeck, another historic city on the Baltic Sea. To spend a day at the beach, drive 1.5 hours. But there are many other natural bathing facilities around Lüneburg.
What is not possible here?
Well, this is certainly not a mountain area, but skiing and hiking are the only things I can think of that wouldn't be possible here.
Nearest airport
Hamburg, 1 hour by train (directly from the airport)
Getting Around
Our house is an 8-minute walk from Lüneburg Central Station. From there you can get to Hamburg in 30 minutes and to the airport in 60 minutes.
