Neighbourhood

It is a very quiet neighborhood 5 minutes from the center of town. Close to incredible restaurants, theaters and bars.

Nearest airport

Leon, Mexico (BJX) is an international airport with direct flights from many destinations in the U.S. including Los Angeles, Houston and Dallas. Our home is located in the center of Guanajuato about 25 miles from the airport. A shuttle costs $25-$30 and an Uber may be contacted.

Getting around

Guanajuato is a walking city. There are taxis, and Uber is available. Public bus transportation is excellent and inexpensive. There are many tour operated agencies if you are interested in seeing the Mexican historical route of Dolores Hidalgo and San Miguel de Allende which are nearby.

Todd

I am a retired professor from the University of Arizona. My wife Veronica was a special education teacher in Mexico. We have two boys age 11 and 13. We recently relocated to live in Mexico in 2019 from Arizona. In 2009 we founded a non-profit community center called Resplandor International (www.resplandorinternational.org) in a rural area out side of Guanajuato City in central Mexico. Resplandor provides art, music, dance, computer literacy, swimming lessons, sports and equine therapy to children with disabilities. We also recently started an Earthkeepers program which is a magical three day camp designed to help kids fall in love with nature and become stewards of their environment. We are members of the Baha´í community.
