When we were on a long trip in the USA for 2.5 months, Kathy offered to host us for a night when we did our road trip from coast to coast.
Kathy had prepared her two guest rooms and her guest bath for us, and even borrowed some toys that our children could play with, and she had made us a great home cooked meal when arrived! So very kind and caring! 💞 Unfortunately something happened to our rental car, and when we got to Kathys we could not open the trunk 😱 Everything was there - passports, luggage, diapers etc. After my husband had talked to a really unhelpful person at Hertz and tried to figure out what was wrong, he unfortunately had to drive the rental car to the nearest Hertz.
As I said, Kathy was ready with a very nice dinner when we arrived, but we only had time to eat the main course together before my husband had to go to the car rental company. We felt so bad that we could not complete the whole dinner that Kathy had prepared and not being able to spend the evening together as planned because of the damn rental car.
I stayed with the kids at Kathy's while my husband was away all evening, which was very stressful for me because I could not put the kids to bed, and I knew that they could have a meltdown at any time if they got too tired. But Kathy was the perfect host and did everything she could to make it easier for me and my kids. She insisted on cleaning up and doing the dishes herself after dinner, so that I could concentrate on the children, she offered them her homemade ice cream sandwiches and let them build a tent in her living room with pillows and blankets on the sofa. I felt like the kids turned her whole living room upside down, but Kathy assured me that it was absolutely fine.
I can not thank Kathy enough for having such patience with my children when they were really tired and showed off their worst side❤
After a good night sleep, Kathy cooked us a nice breakfast, and we finally got a chance to sit down and eat together, and talk about everything we didn't had the chance to the day before becauseof the car.
After breakfast, me, my husband and the children went to the Desert Museum, which Kathy told us about. The day before we went up Mt. Lemon and visited the Children's Museum in Tucson, which Kathy also had recommended. We really enjoyed all her recommendations, it was perfect!👌
After the desert museum, we met up with Kathy, her adult son and grandkids. It had turned out that both my husband and her son ran their own businesses in the same profession. So it was exciting to have the opportunity to visit a furniture carpentry in America, and very fun to get the chance to meet some of Kathy's family.
We hope you visit Sweden some day in the future Kathy, so that we have the chance to meet you again and repay you for your great hospitality. It was really so nice to meet you, your cute little dog Oreo and your lovely family!🥰
And thank you for helping me get my clothes back that I forgot in the other PLU home. That was so kind of you!❤
