Perfect location for visiting Copenhagen and still have some quiet time in the garden. We live in a nice neibourhood with many sweet and helpful neibours. The house is cosy and newly renovated - the real Scandinavian style and lots of "hygge". Perfect for a large family or perhaps 2 couples traveling together.
The space
The house is a typical two-storied redbrick villa from 1929. We have three bedrooms on the first floor and an office. On the ground floor, there is a large open kitchen/living room and an extra sitting room with the most beautiful light. There is also a toilet on the ground floor. In the basement, we have a large bathroom with a tub and a shower, a huge dressing room with washing machine/dryer, and one bed room. The house is surrounded by a nice garden with lots of flowers and a lawn where the kids play football and - of course - a very large trampolin and table tennis. We have several patios where you sit in the evening sun and barbeque.
Guest access
The entire house and garden is of course included in the exchange. Mi case es su casa - as we say!

Neighbourhood
We live in a suburb to Copenhagen called Rødovre.
We live on a quiet street with nice big houses from the 1920s and with very friendly and helpful neighbors. This is a typical suburb with many families with children and the area is perfect for kids.
At the end of our street (two minutes’ walk) is a lovely park with a very popular playground and football fields. If you take a left in the park and walk for five minutes, you will reach the Damhus Lake. A stroll around the lake takes about an hour and it is wonderful place to feed the ducks and get some fresh air. There is of course also a nice café where you can sit and enjoy a cup of coffee or an ice cream while watching the Copenhageners walk by. The lake is also a great place to go for a run. From our house, through the park and around the lake and back is about 5 kilometers. If you take the second park it is a 7,5 km run.
If you take a right in the park at the end of our street and walk for five minutes, you will reach a shopping center with plenty of supermarkets and convenience stores for your daily shopping, a post office and a bank.
The town of Rødovre is a nice suburban community with approx. 35.000 inhabitants. There are two cinemas, a large public swimming pool with several indoor and outdoor pools (see http://www.vestbad.dk), the Vestskoven-forest, several restaurants and fast food places and Copenhagen's largest shopping center, Rødovre Centrum.
Nearest airport
Copenhagen airport is 20 min. by car and easy to reach by metro.
Getting around
Our home is 10-15 minutes from the centre of Copenhagen by car. The bus or the train nearby take you directly into town in 20 minutes. It is easy and relatively inexpensive to take public transportation in Denmark. Previous exchange partner have enjoyed taking the train into town a lot.
We are Danes, so of course we have bicycles for all guests. Former exchange partners have loved riding around town or around the lake. You can either ride the bike into the city (30 min. if you are in good shape) or you may bring your bike on the train for free and it is really a fantastic way to see the city. As you will notice there are bicycle lanes everywhere.
We live about 20 minutes from the airport by car and we live about 15 minutes by car away from several sandy beaches South and East of Copenhagen.
10 minutes by car or bus from our house is the Copenhagen Zoo which is a fantastic place for the kids to spend a whole day.
Our house is also conveniently located for accessing the highway-system if you want to take the opportunity to explore other parts of Denmark. From our house, you can cover the island of Zeeland in 2-3 hours. We will leave you a folder of inspiration for your visit with suggestions, directions and good ideas. We will also program our GPS in the car, so you can easily find all the interesting sites and some of the places that we love to visit with our kids.
We spent one week in the beautiful home of Eva and her family. We had a great time exploring Copenhagen and its region. It was really easy communicating with Eva before and during the exchange. We found a clean and tidy home when we arrived in Denmark with some nice Danish sweets for us. The house is cosy, spacious and well equipped. And there is just so much to do in Copenhagen; we had a wonderful time. We did a lot of biking in the city, went to het botanical garden and the palmhouse, visited museums and went for nice hikes in the region. Our girls did a lot of shopping and they went to Tivoli which they liked a lot. One week was just too short!
We can highly recommended an exchange in this house and with this family! And we found the cats in this home a big plus!
Eva and her family are lovely people and very experienced and easy-going home exchangers. I had the pleasure of meeting them all when we spent a day together walking in the neighbourhood and kayaking through the canals in the centre of Hamburg. They left our house in perfect condition and took good care of our cats. I can wholeheartedly recommend Eva and her family as guests and I am sure our paths will cross again.
Eva and her family were delightful right from our first contact with them. Communication was smooth, so the whole process felt very easy. We kept in touch throughout the week of their stay, and we were very happy to come home to an immaculate house, well-watered plants (quite something in this spell of hot dry weather!), and some kind and thoughtful thank you gifts. The perfect guests ☺️
Eva was friendly and easy to communicate with from the first day we started messaging to arrange a globe exchange. Her family were so careful and respectful with our home, leaving it in perfect condition when they left. Perhaps even better than they found it! Communication throughout the exchange was great, we enjoyed the little updates of what they were up to in Bath. They left us some lovely flowers and gifts from Denmark when they left which was such a thoughtful touch. They even washed and remade the beds. Couldn’t recommend Eva and her family more strongly, they were the perfect guests.
Hosting Eva and her family was succesfuly completed.
Communication was smooth and easy.
They left our appartment in very nice condition. We are happy that they enjoyed Ljubljana and our home and hope that we'll meet soon in Denmark !
We had a great time at Andrea’s wonderful and very cosy home in Hamburg. Andrea is a fantastic host and was extremely kind and helpful before and during our stay. She helped organising an amazing kayaking trip in the many canals of Hamburg, she helped getting football tickets and was eager to help and organise our trip so we got most out of 3-4 days. She even left homebaked bread for us and a wonderful apple pie.
The house is big and very well located and we enjoyed taking the ferry into dowmtown (one-day travelcard for all public transportation for 5 adults was only 13 EUROs!)
I am giving Andrea and her family my warmest recommendation if you ever want to visit Hamburg.
We spend a week in Cathy’s beautiful and very cozy house in Guildford on a globe-exchange. The pictures on Cathy’s profile are not lying. It is a very nice and well-organized house with cool décor and a wonderful garden. It is the perfect size for a large family. From we started talking and until after we had left the house, communication with Cathy was just easy, warm and smooth. Cathy was the perfect host, and I really enjoyed our little "chats" on Whatsapp. When we arrived at the house, we were greeted by home-baked pie, ice cream and prosecco and we felt so welcome straight away. The house is perfectly located for visiting the Surrey Hills, the wonderful town of Guildford (take the free guided walking tour Sunday morning, if you can), walking or cycling along the river, driving to the coast or visiting places like Oxford, Windsor and of course London. My warmest recommendation!
We spend a week in Sarah’s beautiful and very cozy house in Bath on a globe-exchange. The pictures on Sarah’s profile are not lying. It is a very nice and well-organized house. From we started “talking” and until after we had left the house, communication with Sarah was just easy, warm and smooth. When we arrived at the house, we were greeted by vino, snacks and a nice welcome note. We felt at home straight away. The house is perfectly located for visiting the center of Bath (20-30 min. walk along the river) but also if you want to visit some of the surrounding cities (Bristol and Cardiff) and all the little villages along the winding roads in the beautiful landscape. Pure Jane Austen! My warmest recommendation!
Stienke and her family stayed a week in our house in Copenhagen and from we started “talking” and until after they had left the house, communication with Stienke was just easy, warm and smooth. It was a back-to-back globe exchange and Stienke and her family left the house in a perfect, clean condition, washed all the sheets and towels and made all the beds. And they even left Dutch sweets for us! They are perfect and very experienced exchange-partners!
Very clean and beautiful home. Everything seemed new and very well-organised jet super cozy. We loved the amazing balcony and fantastic shower😊 Mojca had done a great job making us feel welcome. She had left lots of useful information and goodies. We borrowed their bikes so it was easy to get around, only about 20 min to city center. We are looking forward to hosting Mojca and her family in the future❤️

Eva
We are a family of five. Martin works in marketing and Eva works with events and communication. We have three boys who are all passionate about football - both as very active players and as well as supporters of various teams.
Our oldest son, Benjamin, has moved out and studies at the University of Copenhagen and might join us for his summer vacation. Oskar works in Austria as a skiing instructor and might join us with his girlfriend the Johan is in high school and will for sure travel with us.
We are a family who loves to travel and see new places and meet new people. We dream of going to great new cities, swimming in new oceans and rivers and eating different food! We love historic sights and love to see how other people live. We love hiking, riding, skiing, driving, and strolling. We have done 20 fantastic exchanges so far, but we also love going camping around Europe or skiing in the Alps for our vacations. Our family also includes 3 beautiful cats, but they stay at home and would love a bowl of food once in a while ...
