General overview
Beautiful, large family home in a country setting at the base of the Sierra Nevada mountains in the American West. We are located in Northern Nevada 20 minutes from Lake Tahoe, Reno or the old west town of Virginia City with numerous summer and winter activities from hiking, skiing and golf to casino shows, restaurants and shopping.
Our home is large, comfortable and bright with modern conveniences and beautiful grounds and can easily accommodate 8 guests. There are two master bedroom suites with attached bathrooms, one upstairs and one downstairs, two additional bedrooms share a bathroom upstairs. A sunny kitchen, dining area, two living room/family room/entertainment areas and small parlor give plenty of space for gathering or a quiet read. The upstairs has a theater room where you can watch movies on the big screen. We also have a large patio (with hot tub), vegetable garden, and yard with beautiful Sierra Nevada mountain views. We ask that you share our home with our lazy old cat who will be easy to have around. An exchange car is available. This is our primary residence so simultaneous exchange is preferred.
You will find desert sunsets, mountain lakes, wild horses and abundant sunshine year round. We are located close to the California state line and are in a perfect area to explore Nevada and California. San Francisco is an easy 4 hour drive, California wine country is 1.5 hours, Yosemite National Park is 4 hours and there are many quaint gold-rush towns, hot springs, lakes, rivers, and ghost towns within a 2 hour drive. Think wide open spaces when you come here! Nevada is an undiscovered gem with dramatic landscapes, uncrowded and with beautiful scenery and weather, and incredible recreation and touring opportunities.
This is the heart of the Wild West, the TV show "Bonanza" was set here, John Wayne filmed his last movie in Carson City and there is a lot of Native American culture in this area. Carson City is the capital of Nevada, the State museum is here as well as the recently restored V&T Railroad which runs from Carson City to Virginia City, the site of the "Mother Lode" of silver and gold mining.

The space
Spacious home, very comfortable for families or friends traveling together. Four bedrooms, four bathrooms. A large yard, garden, and patio with spa/hot tub and barbecue.

We went to Lake Tahoe several times, a most beautiful lake with fresh and clean water and beautiful beaches. We visited Virginia City, South Lake Tahoe and Eagle Lake and we went to Kings Canyon NP and Sequoia NP (Yosemite was closed because of a big fire).
The area is beautiful, the weather is good!

"We had a wonderfull time at Amy and Steve s house, very quiet, very comfortable,
it was good to live in and outside is fantastic. We recommand the area of Lake Tahoe
for wonderfull beaches, balads in trails around the lake, padle, there is so many activities to practise around the lake. We went to Yosemite for a few days, and
Reno is interested also.. We stayed at San Francisco wich is a great place to visit.
Amy and Steve took really good care of my house and cat, they are very nice and

"Our family has spent a wonderful vacation in Carson City (Nevada), we came from Spain and we have found a wonderful and amazing site, there are a lot of things to do: ride horses having an authentic cowboy as a teacher and enjoying with Carson Valley, to go to Tahoe Lake for swimming, parasailing, trail,.... We have also visit Virginia City and its old mines, and in the travel we saw wild horses ... it was so nice!
And we found a very comfortable and nice home, Davey home.

Neighbourhood
Quiet neighborhood on the edge of the small state capital of Nevada. We are 25 minutes from Lake Tahoe. We have beautiful views of the mountains from our home and a large, beautiful yard to enjoy.
Getting to my home
There are many convenient flights to Reno, Nevada which is a 30 minute drive to our home. When traveling overseas we often drive to San Francisco airport and meet our exchangers there. We often exchange cars with our guests.

Getting around
We offer car exchange with a Hyundai SUV, comfortable seating for five. There are bicycles, and a camper trailer also available.
The nearest airport is Reno/Tahoe; the closest major International airport is San Francisco.
