General overview

Welcome to our home in Maplewood NJ! For those looking to explore the North East, Maplewood is a great stop! We are a 30 minute train ride (train station; 8 min walk from home) in NYC and 45 minutes from the beach. Additionally we are walkable to an adorable downtown and a reserve with hiking trails. Our home was built in the 1920s, but has been completely renovated while still maintaining its old world charm! We hope you enjoy it as much as we do!

The space

We have a 4 bedroom, 2 bathroom home. On the first floor we have a living room, dining room, eat in kitchen, full play room for young children and a guest suite/office which is alongside our first bathroom. On the second floor are the three bedrooms; one room has a king, another room has a twin trundle bed and the third has a crib (we have an air mattress available to for that room). There is a full bath upstairs as well. Please note these pictures are from the previous owners, we are still in the process of redoing our home now; will post as soon as they are finished.

You will have full access to the house!

Notes

Wonderful outdoor space at the home includes a full backyard with porch (great views of the mountains) and a swing set for children. Additionally there is a screened in porch in the front of the house!

Neighbourhood

Maplewood is one of a kind! Its a suburb with a small city feeling. We are across the street from a large park, walking distance to the downtown, and close to a reserve with amazing hiking/biking trails. In 2019 it was voted as one of the "Coolest Suburbs in America" by Google. Wonderfully friendly and accepting neighborhood!

Getting around

You are walking distance to a small downtown with restaurants, 8 minute walk to the train station which can take you into NYC or many other towns around NJ/NY. Grocery stores, malls etc are about 5-10 minutes away. A car is not a must but would be helpful depending on your plans.

We are a family of 4 and love to travel anywhere and everywhere! We are a very active family and love to be outdoors. We are lucky enough to both have flexible work schedules and therefore can travel pretty often! We hope that joining this community will allow us to be more personally connected with the countries we are traveling to. Additionally, we hope it will allow to travel more!
