General overview

A bright and quiet apartment in a highrise next to downtown Vancouver overlooking the beautiful mountains and city, our home has all of the amenities and two full bathrooms. Ideal for a couple, as we normally use the second bedroom as an office, though it is possible to open the couch up for a queen-size bed. The master bedroom has a queen-size bed with a Tempur-pedic mattress. It is located in your favourite part of Vancouver - the West End. One block north, you have Robson Street. Five short blocks south, it is Davie Street. Three blocks west, you meet Deman Street. And five blocks east, you are on Burrard Street. English Bay beach, Stanley Park, and Coal Harbour are all within 5 to 10 minutes walk. It is spacious for a couple.

The space

It is a 2-bedroom apartment but prefer exchanging with a couple without kids.

Guest access

The entire 2-bedroom, 2-full bathroom suite, or depending on what we are exchanging, it's possible that we use the smaller second bedroom as storage, though it's still accessible to you.

Notes

Our home is available for a Globe or non-simultaneous exchange from October 23 to 30. Unless you have a proposal for us in December, our exchanges in 2024 are pretty much finalized. Exchange suggestions in 2025 and beyond are welcome! We do not have a Television at home. We have two desks for those who need to work a bit during your stay, and we have fibre-optic internet, so the speed is fast for your stream subscriptions.

Neighbourhood

Yes, you CAN have it all. Our home has the best of the two worlds: City and Nature. West End is the best part of Vancouver. It is downtown, yet it is so close to Stanley Park. A lot of restaurants, shops, and grocery stores are all around our home. Based on millions of reviews submitted to TripAdvisor, Stanley Park, one of the largest urban parks in North America, is awarded ‘top park in the entire world’, beating out New York’s Central Park and the Luxembourg Gardens in Paris. You are close to bike paths, the walkways, the seawall, the grass, the flower beds, and the rose gardens. And you look just beyond that and suddenly the temperature changes, the forest floor changes, you’ve got tree stumps, the totem poles, you’ve got woods and fir trees... And you’re into a forest.

Getting to my home

From the airport, it's a set price CAD$37, 30-minute cab ride. You can also use public transit.

Nearest airport

YVR, from there you can take a cab for about CAD$37.50 (At the airport, they have posted fixed price), or you can take a Skytrain to the City Centre Station), a short ride of bus #5 will take you to our home.

Getting around

It's possible to exchange cars (We have a 2016 Subaru Forester). But honestly, you just want to walk downtown, on the seawall, or in Stanley Park. There are buses #5, #6, and #21 in the neighbourhood and Skytrain to anywhere else. There are also AquaBus to Granville Island.
