A bright and quiet apartment in a highrise next to downtown Vancouver overlooking the beautiful mountains and city, our home has all of the amenities and two full bathrooms. Ideal for a couple, as we normally use the second bedroom as an office, though it is possible to open the couch up for a queen-size bed. The master bedroom has a queen-size bed with a Tempur-pedic mattress.
It is located in your favourite part of Vancouver - the West End. One block north, you have Robson Street. Five short blocks south, it is Davie Street. Three blocks west, you meet Deman Street. And five blocks east, you are on Burrard Street.
English Bay beach, Stanley Park, and Coal Harbour are all within 5 to 10 minutes walk.
It is spacious for a couple.
The space
It is a 2-bedroom apartment but prefer exchanging with a couple without kids.
Guest access
The entire 2-bedroom, 2-full bathroom suite, or depending on what we are exchanging, it's possible that we use the smaller second bedroom as storage, though it's still accessible to you.
Notes
Our home is available for a Globe or non-simultaneous exchange from October 23 to 30. Unless you have a proposal for us in December, our exchanges in 2024 are pretty much finalized. Exchange suggestions in 2025 and beyond are welcome!
We do not have a Television at home. We have two desks for those who need to work a bit during your stay, and we have fibre-optic internet, so the speed is fast for your stream subscriptions.

Neighbourhood
Yes, you CAN have it all. Our home has the best of the two worlds: City and Nature.
West End is the best part of Vancouver. It is downtown, yet it is so close to Stanley Park.
A lot of restaurants, shops, and grocery stores are all around our home.
Based on millions of reviews submitted to TripAdvisor, Stanley Park, one of the largest urban parks in North America, is awarded ‘top park in the entire world’, beating out New York’s Central Park and the Luxembourg Gardens in Paris. You are close to bike paths, the walkways, the seawall, the grass, the flower beds, and the rose gardens. And you look just beyond that and suddenly the temperature changes, the forest floor changes, you’ve got tree stumps, the totem poles, you’ve got woods and fir trees... And you’re into a forest.
Getting to my home
From the airport, it's a set price CAD$37, 30-minute cab ride.
You can also use public transit.
Nearest airport
YVR, from there you can take a cab for about CAD$37.50 (At the airport, they have posted fixed price), or you can take a Skytrain to the City Centre Station), a short ride of bus #5 will take you to our home.
Getting around
It's possible to exchange cars (We have a 2016 Subaru Forester). But honestly, you just want to walk downtown, on the seawall, or in Stanley Park. There are buses #5, #6, and #21 in the neighbourhood and Skytrain to anywhere else. There are also AquaBus to Granville Island.

Can meet for a drink and catch up a little and talk about travelling.
We enjoyed staying in Kemila & Tim's home! It was a super location. It was perfect to take our morning jog along the water and to Stanley Park. There were a plethora of tasty restaurants but also walkable to several grocery stores. Their home was well equipped and comfortable. The views of the mountains were an added bonus. Clean and tidy with all the amenities.
Hi Tim & Kemila
Great exchange, great location and a lovely apartment
We appreciated your information booklet, and your assistance by phone on arrival, the key exchanges worked well
Thank you Jenni Wilke
tim and kemila/s place was all that i wished for and more!
itś on the 8th floor and i loved the balkoney. since i traveld all alone there place was so big that i never used the secend room and there second bathroom.
there place was the perfect place to relax after a day out in nature or in vancouver.
the location was exellent, in the middle of west end and just steps away from sooooo many great eating places.
just a short walk, 20 min i think and you will be on stanley park or on the waterfront.
they left great tips and directions.
i also exchanged cars and boy was i luckey! mine car is a fiat 500 for thereś very big car! i loved driving it.
everything was clean and bright! house and car.
i loved mine vancouver home for 5 weeks! again, dream exchange!
ohh theu also left me a travel card and i could use timś bike
communitation was very good.
they are also very nice peolple to talk with, we had lunch together before the exchange and a whats app video chat before and after the exchange.
The home is situated in a quiet residential street, a block away from the restaurants and close to the Stanley park entrance. It was the perfect base to explore Vancouver. The spacious condo has a queen size master bedroom and a guest bedroom has an office desk and a pull out bed couch. We used the espresso machine every morning. The kitchen is fully stocked with everything you need to cook, and there are two major grocery chains within 2 blocks. We didn't have to cook because the restaurants in the area were so good!
There are no TV's or computer monitors in the condo so we brought our portable monitors to attach to our laptops. We didn't have any issues as the neighbors are quiet. We would absolutely stay at Timila's home again.
A fabulous apartment in one of the nicest neighborhoods of vancouver. It is perfectly located downtown, very central, close to wonderful restaurants and the sea is not too far of a walk down the street. We absolutelly loved everything about it and are very grateful to have made this exchange!
What a wonderful exchange! This was just a long weekend getaway for us, but it was perfect. The apartment is silent so we slept well and we started each morning with a walk in Stanley Park (just beside the front door) and coffee and a treat from an amazing coffee shop just a couple blocks over.
We didn’t use our car at all as we explored downtown Vancouver all in walking distance. We even took in a Vancouver Canucks hockey game and were able to walk to Rogers Arena. The restaurants in the neighbourhood are exceptional with incredible variety for every budget.
A perfect weekend! Thank you!
Kemila and Tim were great guests. They were very respectful for our home, and left it clean and tidy with a lovely bouquet of flowers!
Tim and Kemila took great care of my dog and my home. We got to spend a couple of days together and I really enjoyed getting to know them.
They would be welcome back any time.
Timila and Tim had a crash course in Island living, when for some unknown reason the electrical company decided to cut one phase of our power during their two week stay. They got a crash course in our back up power system :-(
All the neighbors and friends in the area loved meeting them and they seemed to enjoy the laid-back life style Cabrera offers. I hope in spite of the power issues they had a relaxing time and discovering the natural beauty this area has to offer! They are welcome back any time!
tim and kemila were perfect guests. they left mine place spotless and even did the laundry wich was not nessecery. mine car was also very clean and with a full thank.
mine neighbours said they were nice and quiet guest and they would not mind guests like them!
thank you for exchanging life"s with me for 5 weeks. now i always wish for such an exchange!
This nice couple stayed in Stockholm in my apartment for a week before they continued their journey to Copenhagen. Would happily host them again. Happy exhanging!
We had the perfect exchange experience with Timila, they’re a super cute couple who are seasoned exchangers and love to travel. Prior to committing on PLU, we had a Facetime call to tour each other's space and was in constant communication regarding flight schedules and car dropoffs. They were very friendly and kept our space clean.
What a wonderful couple is Kemila and Tim. It has been excellent to have them stay at my home and exchange lives for a bit with them. We communicate perfectly, they left my house in excellent condition and Tim even fixed an issue we had with the door lock. staying at their house was marvelous. Centrally located, fantastic appartment. We were sad to leave.
Not only did they treat our home as their own and left it sparkling clean when they left, we loved exchanging so much with them that we are already planning our next one!
We are very grateful to have had an authentic New Orleans typical historic house experience staying at Anna and David's for a week. They have made the home very comfortable, practical and tasteful. It's located on a super quiet street but with easy access to restaurants. A block or two away, there's a bus stop and access to street cars (or trams). It's within walking distance to the best beignet coffee stand, Po' Boy restaurant in town, and the huge City Park. Honestly, New Orleans is such a walking-friendly city that we were glad we brought comfy sandals.
Anna and David left us clear instructions on everything. And they were always reachable via WhatsApp during our stay.
Anna and David are thoughtful, classy, and friendly people. Their communication is always timely. We had great pleasure welcoming them to our home while we were on a road trip. They left our place spotlessly clean. We highly recommend them as guests! And, we look forward to our visit to New Orleans in the fall. Thank you, Anna and David, for everything.
Communication with Jenni has been effortless from the beginning. It was our first time arranging a back-to-back exchange, and Jenni made it much smoother. Our next exchange partner said they arrived at a super clean home. Thanks, Jenni, for the coordination. We appreciate everything you've done! And we highly recommend Jenni as a guest.
It was not until we arrived in Tucson and stayed at Kathy's that we discovered Tucson is a great hiking destination - It ranks as the second-best city in America for hiking! And also, to our surprise, Tucson has become a foodie destination as well. Compared to other cities we've been to in the US, the price in Tucson is also much more affordable. We enjoyed the beautiful sunny, dry and warm weather in February. Kathy's house is very well-pointed, and the spacious backyard is a great place to have a meal or a drink while watching the sunset. Thank you, Kathy, for this opportunity to visit your city and the mountains and meet you and your amazing, well-behaved dog, Oreo.
Thank you so much Kemila and Tim!
You took such good care of my Oreo and my home.
I'm glad you enjoyed your stay and it was so nice getting to know you both.
Rene’s house is very well located. There are gorgeous beaches driving in either direction. A lagoon with a zipline is also very close. The house is within walking distance of a tourist attraction, Saltadero, a beautiful waterfall (We were lucky in November; there was a lot of water there). We love that the house is on a hill, so it’s nice for star gazing at night. Rene’s house is very comfortable for us with everything you need, the ground is large, and the pool is absolutely a bonus. Rene communicated with us promptly even though she was travelling during our stay. It’s our first trip to DR, and now we have a much better appreciation of this country and its people. Thanks, Rene and family, for having us stay for two great weeks.
Thank you, Tamila and Tim, for being great guests, and sorry for the extra authentic experience of having a phase of power cut!?! 🤪 Everyone here is hoping to see you again!
We enjoyed Marisse's home for a month this summer. Her home is very bright, spacious and comfortable, in a quiet neighbourhood, easily accessible to Haarlem city centre and the nearby Nation Park with its long stretch of beaches, as well as other towns, villages and cities by car. There are many activities around. One month's visit was barely enough. We also made day trips to Amsterdam by train.
Marisse took great care of our home which was spotless when we returned. She also washed our car and left us flowers. She was easy and delightful to communicate with and we were happy to have met Marisse and to have exchanged homes with her.
Some places give you exactly what you go for, and some places like Stockholm give you so much more! We are so grateful to Anna for making our journey to Stockholm into such an amazing memory. Her space is small but super functional. I use Ikea products back home but it seems Swedish people master the essence of its style and design :) Sitting out in the sunny balcony always felt like a treat. Her suite is very conveniently located. Communication with Anna was very smooth and clear. Thank you Anna for making it a great PLU experience for us.
W&J's San Francisco home is a great location, with a short walking distance to Whole Foods and Safeway, and a few restaurants. Yerba Buena Gardens is close by like their backyard. Union Square, Market Street, and the Ferry Building are all within walking distance. We enjoyed our stay in their very spacious two-bedroom home - an ideal place to do a little work when traveling, as it's so quiet with all the windows facing a peaceful courtyard. They have two desks set up in two bedrooms. The building is modern and secure, the home is homey. Communication with W&J is very smooth.

Greece has always been on our radar, so it was delightful to receive Niki’s invitation! Niki introduced us to some of Greek islands that we had never heard of, such as her home island Serifos, Folengandros, and several others that we are saving for our next trip to Greece. Staying at Niki’s Oceanographer’s Home was very comfortable. We were also able to experience another of her homes, small according to non-island’s standard, but very cute and cozy. The hospitality from her family was heart-warming. Niki kindly provided us with her car so we had the opportunity to explore the whole island. The communication was very smooth from the beginning. Thank you Niki for offering us such an opportunity.
Very respectful to our home and communicative. Niki left our home clean and tidy. The fridge is even tidier than before we left!
We thoroughly enjoyed our stay at Kristy's in Lake Country. Very comfortable home with a modern kitchen, king-size bed, a view on the deck, and a walking trail steps away from the house. Lake Country has so much to explore. We signed up with a vinery membership till this day and receive wine delivery quarterly.
We found our home the way we left it, very clean. The communication has been great. We'll do the exchange again!
