General Overview

Our new home(2014) is our perfect place for relaxing, enjoying the scenery, and being with friends in a great community. The nearest town(15 minutes away) is Buckingham(Gatineau) where we do our groceries and shopping. It is primarily a French speaking town but speaking English is acceptable everywhere. There is an ecological reserve 1.5 miles away with hiking trails in one of Quebec's last old growth forests. This location is true cottage country. The Space

We are on a little used paved highway( no through traffic and 60km/hour speed limit) with most traffic being cottagers going to their cottage. Our lot is 1.5 acres large with 220' lakefront. Our dock location is very private. There is good swimming right off the dock, but with a rocky shoreline there is no beach. There are only 65 cottages on the lake and 3/4 of its shoreline is undeveloped. The lake has islands to boat to and have all to yourself. There are eagles, ospreys, and lots of loons among the bird population.

Getting Around

We are 20 minutes to The town of Gatineau ( Buckingham). Getting to Ottawa is best to drive and park. Getting to Montreal there is a good way by driving about 1 hour, park for free as long as you want, and get on a Via Rail train to the very center of Montreal (avoiding the famous Montreal traffic).
